Two drag-queens (Anthony/Mitzi and Adam/Felicia) and a transgender woman contract to perform a drag show at a resort in Alice Springs, a resort town in the remote Australian desert. They head west from Sydney aboard their lavender bus, Priscilla. En route, it is discovered that the woman they've contracted with is Anthony's wife. Their bus breaks down, and is repaired by Bob, who travels on with them.

FOR THE TIME BEING THIS SPANISH RELEASE (IN ENGLISH) IS THE BEST VERSION OF THIS MOVIE AVAILABLE IN THE WORLD
This is the best version of this wonderful family musical available in the world - True it is framed at 1:85:1 and not 2:35:1 but the UK DVD release in cinemascope is not anamorphic but a matted letterbox within a 4:3 ratio so it looks awaful on a large screen TV (and has the most appaling distorted mono sound too). This Spanish release plays in full English language (and English film titles) you just access it from the on screen menu.What is more evident when compared to the UK DVD release (apart from this one being anamorphic widescreen) is that the colour pallette is so much more natural looking. The UK release has an awful yellow hue throught the movie. I hadnt noticed till viewing the Spanish release which has normal skin tones and beautiful pastel colouring and looks like an illustration from the original book. What is more, whilst the Spanish release is still only mono (Poor John Barry's magical score screams out for a 5.1 upgrade) it is 2.0 DD so sounds better than the English counterpart, fuller, richer and with NO distortion. If you lovr the movie - GET THE SPANISH RELASE.
