Even though this said it was the "original" formula with ammonia, and was produced in the UK, it still didn't work as well as the old stuff. I miss that.

I bought this after being duped by some of the reviews into thinking that it was the original formula. IT IS NOT. I have an original formula After Bite pen--expiration date is May 2011. It was unopened, so when I used it for the first time this year it still does a super job. I thought the After Bite Classic was the original--thanks to some of these cockamamy reviews. But it is not. Classic formula: aqua, bicarbonate, ammonia, glycerin, cyclopentasiloxane, cyclohexasiloxane. The After Bite Original contains only two ingredients: ammonia 3.5% and natural oil. The Original worked almost immediately, after stinging; I liked the sting, as I knew it would go away in moments and leave me itch free. This new classic works sort of, in a delayed reaction. The delay causes me to want to scratch and scratch. Not really happy with this new product, but the Original seems not to be available, so we make do.

Arrived quickly and does contain ammonia. But it is still not the ingredients I'm used to: it lists sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) first (after water), ammonia only second, meaning there is less ammonia in it than baking soda.The ingredients are entirely different from an After Bite I bought last year in Italy: which lists Ammonia first (after water) and has no sodium bicarbonate altogether and even the other ingredients (liquid paraffin, which is petroleum-derived mineral oil; dimethicone; C12-13; and Pareth-3) are entirely different -- go figure. This is still different from a more than 10-year old After Bite I have that only lists Ammonia (3.5%) and Natural Oils, which I expected from the "classic" version. I'll give it a try though ...

This stuff works fast. With it, a bit stops itching and hurting in a few hours. Without it, I itch for days. Get the kind with ammonia in it.

I really love this stuff, but I find the lack of an expiration date quite unhelpful. I tend to stock these all over the place to keep them handy, but I need expiration dates or else manufacture dates so I know how old they are and when to replace them. Minus one star for lack of an expiration or manufacturing date.Additionally, afterbite.com website does not have any way, at least that I can find, to send an inquiry to the company to ask for the manufacturing or expiration date for my batch number.

I was thrilled to find this is the true ORIGINAL formula that works!! I spent too much but considering I wanted to scratch my skin off, it was worth the money!!

Stops itch from bugs bites quickly. I recently used it for jellyfish stings. Worked so fast!

Actually works. Get this one. The newer one has baking soda and that does nothing. This is the good one with ammonia

I am a mosquito magnet! This is the best after-bite solution I've yet found - easy to apply and stops the itch for quite awhile.

Afterbite kenne ich aus Kanada, wo ich es vor Jahren das erste Mal gekauft habe, nachdem ich fast von Mücken gefressen wurde. Seitdem begleitet es mich auf jede Reise und wird auch zu Hause verwendet.Bei Mückenstichen verschwindet der Juckreiz sehr schnell und der Stich schwillt nicht so stark an. Man kratzt nicht ständig, daher heilen die Stiche schnell ab. Für mich ein perfekter Helfer bei Stichen.
