Still worth watching
I saw this movie at the cinema when it first came out in 1993 - and the first time I saw John Malkovitch (have been a fan of his ever since). The story you can read in other reviews. I just want to point out the excellent performance of Malkovitch as the creepy terrorist with his various disguises who gives his best to make Clintwood look almost boring. After all these years the movie is still enthralling.

A Great Classic - No spoilers -
Lets face it, Clint Eastwood in any movie is a good start. This movie has something of everything. I wouldn't say it's good for children, but it's a good movie for couples / solo watching. Eastwood is flawless in his acting, nicely fitting the role of a secret service agent. The story is well put together, based on relevant information, has a great build up to it and a fantastic ending / conclusion. I'd give this movie a solid 8/10.

Solid Eastwood Blu-ray
I recently got Dirty Harry on Blu-ray and was stunned by it. Fancying a companion Clint film from towards the end of his (acting) career I thought I'd get this. It's a very good transfer (and a great film of course!). However I think 4 stars is fair because the sharpness and depth of field does vary from shot to shot. Some close-ups are great, with plenty of detail visible in the faces and eyes. Others are a bit fuzzy. Some of the famous changed history CGI stands out a bit more too. Can't fault the film though and this is probably the best version there is...

easy to watch action film
John Malkovich is outstanding as the villain, even if his motivation for bumping off the president is a bit thin -there are some genuinely tense moments in this fast paced, easy to watch action film.

Enjoyable and entertaining.
Received DVD on 13th July 2013. Have just finished watching it. Really enjoyed it. Subtitles extremely helpful. Picture quality clear. Info on back in German? but that didn't matter. Good performance by Eastwood (as usual). Good storyline. Played OK on my DVD.I now have 48 Clint Eastwood Films in my collection, and am looking to get 3 more, of which I have put in my basket for later!

Censored!!!!!!
Can you believe the censors have tampered with this film? The sequence in which Malkovich breaks the neck of a very likeable character is entirely cut from the film. It's a key moment that director Wolfgang Peterson included to show the level of callousness of Malkovich's character who otherwise gains some of our sympathy. Unforgiveable!
