Bought this top to make cold brew tea n it works great. Loose tea, water n a wide mouth mason jar is all you need. I’m enjoying this item. It makes pretty good tea. Make sure u put enough loose tea in the mason jar. I use filtered well water for my tea.

The media could not be loaded. Horrifyingly, plastic bits flaked off of the seal and made their way to my cold brew tea.Mind you, I am using the correct size jar, which the manufacturer provides no info about. It’s a BALL wide-mouth 32oz mason jar.I would totally buy a second redesign of this product for commercial use and at home. As you can see in my video, the seal is not removable, It is glued down, which makes the product impossible to clean. The unreachable open space was already harboring mold after the third use. If you are currently using this product please beware of this.I am currently looking for a better solution.cold brew coffee drinkers: Buy a small Nut-Milk bag. it makes great coffee in the fridge and is easy to clean later, because it’s reservable.For tea drinkers: am not sure. None of my mech sieves are fine enough to not get the debree out of my cold brews. paper filters take forever to drain, and get clogged. Currently searching for the better solution, haven’t tried the nut milk bags.One thing I have learned, gravity is the best filter for grounds and fines. If you really want a clean cup, you need to let your container sit before transferring it to a server. There will be a small amount of liquid on the bottom that you should not drink, it will hold all of the fine sludge.

Is there supposed to be a black seal inside? Mine didn't have one and it leaks. I am so disappointed. I emailed the company...waiting to see if they will send a new one out. And will update!Update. Company sent a new one and it had a black seal. I used it and it does not leak! Yay!
