Bad luck or just a bad product? A little bit of both... UPDATE: Good saw, better service!
Missing a vital piece which apparently will not allow the machine to even run the motor making it completely non functional. With not having the money to spend a small fortune on a good quality name brand saw, I thought this was a great opportunity to own a good/decent and vital tool for a hobby and small jobs when needed. Wishing I had continued saving up the money for a saw that would have been complete and functional out of the box, but owning several other tacklife products that I've been satisfied with, I once again put my faith in another one of their products only to be totally let down. Still like tacklife, just disappointed in this particular product and transaction.UPDATE:After having bad luck with the first saw that I ordered, Amazon could only do so much to help with a third party seller, but after leaving the review the seller reached out to me to help rectify an unfortunate situation and sent a replacement. I waited a while to out the saw to the test and use it several times doing several different projects cutting different sized and types of wood. After testing it out, I am satisfied with the saw and happy to say that the service in replacing it with a new one was amazing and very helpful. Very happy after all said and done and am grateful for the service and the product. Thanks again!

Great saw so far
Great saw so far. I just opened it, set it up, and made 3 test cuts last night. Blade is within a 1/2 degree to square to the fence and base, without adjusting. Not bad! I'll fine tune it later. Not much tear out with the stock blade on the pine cuts I made. The laser needed quite a bit of adjusting and can be a little finnicky. This has been the only slight downside so far.The saw has quality parts and performance where I want them. For example, the blade slide is buttery smooth and the horizontal bevel change is accurate and easy to change. On the other hand, the clamp locks and end extender locks are just simple screws with wing nuts. The laser is a manual switch and doesn't automatically come on when the saw is powered. Nothing fancy, yet they get the job done! I'll gladly take this value while still getting quality performance where it counts.I'll update this review once I get through a big job with it, but so far I don't see any reason not to go with this one.

Good deal for the price, good saw.
Right out of the box, I liked what I saw. Began using it the same day it arrived on a project with multiple miter cuts. All cuts were spot on. The laser needed some adjustment, which was very easy to do. I've only been using this saw for three days now but it appears to be a good buy so far.The only negative is the fact that the locking pin that releases the saw from it's down position and I had to use a hammer and punch to release it to it's up position. The pin seems to be slightly bent and won't slide out of its locked position without some persuasion. Beyond that minor problem all else is fine. Time will be the real test for this saw, but for now I'm glad I bought it.

Good Value/Heavy Duty
Heavy duty. Works as needed. Great value for features.Heavy. You wouldn't want to move this across job sites. Laser seems to lose adjustment easily. I've decided to not blindly rely on it. Manual and instructions are non-existent. If you're experienced with this type of saw, you'll have no problem. If you're new to it, you may get frustrated as you reverse engineering through trial and error.

So far so good
I'm impressed! I bought this for doing projects around the house. First thing I cut was some plastic drawer liners so they would fit, done. I'm ordering a finer tooth blade for cleaner cuts. The next project will be to replace some deck boards. Then we will install crown molding. Now in my opinion this is perfect for the do it yourself kind of person. It's a great deal for a machine with a lot of features. IMO it's not what a pro would buy, but for around the house projects it's perfect. I'll update as I do stuff.

Review after cutting single 4x4 in 22 pieces (all cuts angled) for project.
First laser not visible enough on sunny day while in shade. Looped cardboard over saw to block more light and could see laser enough to make cuts, somewhat inconvenient but laser was set accurately and cuts were easier with laser. Second stiffness was adequate, didn't notice any wild loss of accuracy, but I did try not to push sideways on handle to get the straightest cuts. Third power was just adequate. Fourth, part broke before I used saw. The retention pin that keeps saw down when in storage broke easily with the stress of lifting saw by handles. The pin had a C shaped lock ring which made the thickness of pin at the ring too thin and the pin bent and metal was not durable to bend back (broke easily at C clip location). Replaced with smooth part of steel bolt ground down to fit hole and notch in saw. Overall this is a bargain saw at a bargain price. I don't intend industrial use but the saw will get used and I do find it adequate for my purposes. I don't care about the pin I just want power and stiffness to cut thicker wider wood at right angles and compound angles for a few projects over several years. The laser is the best feature even though it needs to be in a darker location. This saw will meet my needs. How long it will last is unknown, but functionally is works as you would expect this type of saw to work.

Best value double bevel sliding miter saw out there.
This was a significant upgrade from an old miter saw I had. Well I've not had experience with the high end laser, I've been quite impressed with the consistency of this models laser. Another reviews seem to suggest it's subpar, but I have no problem relying on it for consistency. I've probably made a few hundred cuts on it at this point and have been very happy with this purchase. You can't beat your bang for the buck with this discount product. The one qualm I had was with the double bevel adjustment. It seems to want to go single bevel easy enough, but I can't figure out how to get it to go the other direction. It's rare that I'll need to make that cut but would be nice to know I could do it if needed.
