Oxford Bach Books for Organ: Manuals Only, Book 1: Grades 2-5

Nice to have these all in one place, although flaged as grade 2-5 some pieces require a lot of work to get them perfect. Some excellent pages giving advice about the pieces. My only critism is no tempo markings, but the music itself shoul dictate speed. Chorales have a natural tempo and natural breathing points, other items seem to flow according to the musical line. Excellent clear print.

I bought this book rather tentatively, to explore the Pipe Organ voice on my new digital piano. Tentative as I might well not have been able to play professional music. So I was delighted to play the first few works almost immediately, followed by some requiring a little practice, and there are later pieces which are something to aim for. It is simply mind blowing to play organ music of Bach yourself, rather than hearing others on recordings. This is real Bach, not dumbed down for beginners. The only thing I would have included are metronome settings.
