Deluxe Top Sealing Damper 13" x 13" Stainless Steel (Part# 051313)

We didn’t have a damper, so constant cool air draft into the house. This one came highly recommended by our chimney expert, he installed it quickly and simply and we are very happy with the result. It has multiple settings for how far open you’d like your chimney, but we always crank it open for you the fire and close it down all the way once the fire is extinguished. Really happy with product.

I like the simplicity and design of this cap, only issue was only 3 of the 4 provided screws could go in. One of the welded on threads that the screws go in is defective and unable to be used. Hoping 3 of 4 screws will keep it in place.

Very easy to install

Good build quality overall, installation is pretty easy and straightforward. Price seems way too high for such a simple part - must be due to high input cost of thick gauge stainless steel. A few things that could use some improvement:1 ) It would be nice to have a gasket to fully seal the damper.2) The sheet metal tabs bend upward to form the upstanding flange against where the damper seals, Where they come together there are small gaps. I sealed these with silicone.3) The actuator bracket assembly that mounts in the firebox - you can remove two screws and reverse one of the components if you're mounting it on the left side. One of these screws was stripped, so I had to drill it out and replace with a nut and bolt.

Built well, fairly easy to install. Seals and works great!

This product was delivered on time and it was perfect fit and size. Very affordable

The description failed to mention that you have to install the big metal piece inside the fireplace by drilling 4 holes into the brick. I should've picked another design that doesn't require drilling.

Very disappointed that 12×12 damper cap doesn't fit 12×12 flue. Please correct yourself because it doesnt fit
