Doesn't work. Potentially dangerous.
Potential fire hazardDoesn't work properly on Dell XPS Studio. This is the first, truly one-star product I've purchased on Amazon. I should've known right away when holding the very, very lightweight adapter that it's quality would be bad. The product seemed to work for a day or two but by the 3rd day, it wasn't charging so I swapped the connector (wall end) and noticed it was hot. It began charging off and on again and, as I monitored it, I noticed that the wall-end connection to the adapter was getting VERY hot and mushy...almost to the point of melting. Things probably would have gotten pretty ugly if I'd left it plugged in so I disconnected it immediately.Terrible, dangerous product. Not worth your time.

Worked well for 9 months
Bought two of these last November. Both of them have stopped working in the last month even though one of them was in a closet for 9 of those 10 months. The one from the closet will keep the laptop on, but will not charge the battery. After working flawlessly for 9 months, the laptop no longer recognizes the first one as being 90W chargers and has never recognized the 2nd one (so it's possible it NEVER worked). They are apparently breaking down or something whether you actually use them or not. Not too pleased.Gave the 3rd star instead of just two because at least they aren't falling apart at the computer end like the Dell branded chargers do for this series of laptops. They fray where the wire meets the plug and stop working. Dell replaced the original one and the replacement did the same thing, hence the purchase of these two chargers.

replacement
I purchased this after the charger that came with my Dell died after a year of use. It was the cheapest alternative, and I've used it for seven months with surprisingly few hitches :D Around a month or two ago my laptop would occasionally enter "plugged in, but not charging" mode when I plugged the charger in, but I'm not sure if the problem originates from my laptop (which has a history of mood swings) or the charger (which is of sketchily low price), but plugging/replugging usually fixes the problem, and if not then relocating to a new outlet does (I have no idea why o_o).There seem to be reviews about the excess heat but I haven't experienced anything of the sort; it radiates what I judge to be a standard amount, and in fact it makes for a nice footwarmer on cold winter nights.

What a waste
I needed a charger fast and because of Prime I could get this in 2 days for free. For $10. Score, right? Not so much.If I plug this in, my laptop has power. It is slow dying though, and this piece of crap DOES NOT charge my Dell Studio 1737 like the product description says it does. I wish I had read the reviews for it first but I was ordering from my phone and didn't want to try to scroll through them. Never again! The only reason this gets 2 stars is that at least I got a couple weeks of use out of it. But now I'm just going to try to order a new charger through Dell even though it'll be a lot pricier. Shoulda just done that in the first place.Save your time and money and just skip this.

I am soooo thrilled!
I am so thrilled! I brought my Dell Inspiron 1737 with me to Scottsdale. I had been having an ac adapter problem for quite some time and it had stopped charging the battery but still flowed ac power into the PC. Then this morning I knocked the laptop over and it landed on the spot where the adapter plugs into the pc and smashed it good! I called a few places around town and I was afraid I would be out of commission until I left...or longer! So, I thought let's see what Amazon has...I have Amazon prime so I could get it no later than Thursday....and I am thinking this is going to cost me $40-50...IF they have it.Well I searched and found this product for what $9.52? Then when I bought it, for $3.99 I could have it delivered TODAY! I quickly ordered...it came within 6 hours and not only does it work - but it's also charging my battery and no more "AC adapter not recognized" messages! wooo hooo!

replacement power cord
i needed to replace my other cord & i went with this one for the price. Actually, i am very happy with this (i bought 2 of them) and i havent had a single problem.. not to jinx myself.. but i havent even needed to use my 2nd one (it was a backup if this one just lasted a few weeks) so anyway, cool bean for this product & even though it is just a power cord, i desperately needed it to work & it has def served its purpose! thanks to whoever is behind making this & putting it out there for such a good price!

No problems
Prior to purchasing this power cord, I did take the time to compare specifications with my Dell power cord and they matched. I was concerned when I first plugged in because it doesn't have the built-in light and the tiny indicator light on the side of my laptop did not come on. However, the icon at the bottom of my screen did show that it was charging and I have had no problems at all. I'm glad I bought it. I saved money and it turned out to be a great product.
