Songbird Essentials SE78215 Butterfly Feeder/Nectar Combo (Set of 1)

We enjoyed using these to raise several generations of butterflies on our porch (that we later released). Note they do not have a reinforced nylon bottom like the large one does - it’s net on all sides - but we laid a piece of cardboard in the bottom for easier clean up. Easy to zip and work great - and when finished they cleaned up quickly by spraying out with a hose. The 3 pack is a great deal and we also got the large one so we could rotate plants with different size caterpillars to the large cage when they were getting big enough to crawl to the top to form their chrysalis’s.

Had the feeder close to flowers but did not see one butterfly come close. The nectar was change one a week for three weeks and still it did not attract any butterfly. Mind you, I have butterfly bush close by which is breeding monarchs at a rate of 2 to 3 every other week. Some people had success with the feeder I did not.

When I purchased the Lore Butterfly Feeder through Amazon, I saw this feeder and purchased it as well, along with butterfly "essence" to make the essential fluid needed for their feeding when enough flowers did not produce the haven of sustenance they needed to survive. This particular feeder is easy to use as well as the Lore feeder. The so-called stems are red as well that attract butterflies to feed. Both have been influential in attracting many species of butterflies to our garden, giving my family many enjoyable moments. Both feeders are priced reasonably, and the feeder is easy to assemble; the powder mixes with water easily and, once container is filled, the remaining among may be stored in the refrigerator for five days. Give your life a treat; butterflies will perch on your shoulder to say "hi, I am here for your pleasure."

I can't review this on how well it works, because a bunch of hornets or wasps or something decided this was God's gift to waspkind. I was only able to approach it after a storm had scared them all away, and I immediately threw it out.

We bought this for my Mom-in-law for Mother's Day. She's a big butterfly lover and is trying to create a butterfly haven in her front yard. My husband hung this up for her & she's already filled it. She loves that she can offer them fruit & nectar. She was also so happy it came it the nectar. Now I honestly don't know if she's getting any butterflies yet but we may have given it to her too late for the butterflies who migrate but hopefully the butterflies will find it & then everyone will be happy!

I am happy with the overall product, but not with the price. I feel this product to be overpriced for the quality of product. That said, I decided to keep the feeder and have seen butterflies as well as hummingbirds and orioles at the feeder.
