Dockers Men's Alpha Khaki Stretch Slim Tapered Fit Flat Front Pant

I am in love with these pants. Seriously. If Adam had found these pants in the Garden of Eden and had no good reason to wear them except for their profound greatness, he would still wear them; pre-civilization nudity be damned. Let me tell you about them so that you will buy them, love them, and make Dockers the sweet monies that they so heartily deserve.WHAT I WANT:I'm a college student with decent fashion taste, and I like to wear clothes that a) last, b) look good c) are cheap relative to the quality. These pants blow all of these requirements out of the water.WHEN TO WEAR:These pants are great for very casual, casual, somewhat casual, space travel, and business casual settings.Basically, always. I wear them to class, to work in an office, and to parties of all types.FIT:I am 5'11" and 165lbs; I wear a 31x32. I have three pairs of these that I rotate in my outfit lineup: two navy blue (Pembroke) pairs and one black pair. The fit is just slim enough to be flattering, but by no means skinny. Whereas the normal Alpha Khaki is a little loose for a slim guy like me (though I do have three pairs or those too), this Slim Tapered Alpha Khaki is perfect. It is a little roomy in the thigh, close-but-comfortable in the seat, and tapered going into the calf and ankle for a perfect pair with any shoe (except maybe long-toe dress shoes).WHAT I WEAR THEM WITH:I mostly wear them with Clark's Desert Boots, Wolverine 1000 Mile Montague Chelsea boots, and Vans Originals; the ankle opening works very well with all of them. As far as shirts, I usually wear either light blue or white slim-but-comfortable OCBDs. Sometimes I wear hats, but that is irrelevant.FEEL:The fabric is good for both warm-but-not-too-warm and cold weather. I'd say anywhere in a range from Arctic Snowstorm to Sunny Late-Spring Day. It is very forgiving of movement due to the stretchiness and breathes well. No sweaty legs for you.Overall, these pants are simply the best pants ever created, bar none. Do yourself a favor and buy them.

Dockers Men's Alpha Khaki Slim Tapered Flat Front Pant, New British Khaki/Stretch, 34x32I am always on the lookout for a good pair of khaki pants because I wear them a lot for work. But, I am also somewhat style conscience. I really don't like wearing pleated pants anymore. Flat front pants are more "in" it seems and the more slim the better. These new pants are very stylish and slim but also very durable. The fabric seems to be very tough in a good way. I am sure they will soften a bit after a few washes. What makes these pants so great is that fit very slim but they also stretch. So even-though they feel a bit tight they allow you to move freely. They pass the "squat" test very well.Note: the color of these pants are a bit darker than what they appear in the pictures. So, be warned, that if you absolutely want the color in the picture, you may be disappointed. I love color just fine.

Dockers Alpha Khaki line-up are truly a well made quality khaki. Comfortable, good stitching, and thick khaki material (but not to heavy) that definitely appears to be very durable. Its too bad that the Slim Fit will not work for me. My issue is that the Slim Fit definitely does not cater to guys with an athletic build. I'm not some huge bodybuilder by any means, but I do take my health and fitness very serious. I regularly purchase clothing that highlight my athletic form, but the Dockers Alpha Slim Fit were close to looking like painted on pants. The moment my wife started laughing and saying, "we could be twins", I knew immediately that I was sending them back-Lol! Well aware upon ordering that they were Slim Fit, I was just giving the Slim Fit a try. I have a few pairs of slim fit dress slacks that that work extremely well for me, so I thought that the Dockers Alpha Slim Fit would fit the same... not at all.So, I returned the pants, and opted for the Dockers Alpha Khaki Athletic Fit, also made by Dockers. They're pretty much Levi 541 Athletic Fit Jeans (Levi owns Dockers), yet with a touch sophistication, and they work perfectly for me.So, if you're one to squat and deadlift regularly, and you also have muscular quads, you should probably pass... unless you like painted on pants-Lol!

I don't remember chinos being a men's staple when Dockers released it's first. Back then, Dockers wasn't owned by Levi's and their biggest competition was probably Bugle Boy. Their first chino was casual and rugged, as chinos were meant to be, since they originated for military wear.At some point over the next few years, as chinos grew in popularity and Levi's purchased Dockers, they began making them more dressy and with lighter fabrics. The chino went from a rugged pant that was a step up from jeans, to a super casual option for business. They went from a pant mostly worn by younger men, to a pant mostly worn by older men.Why am I telling you this? Because the Dockers Alpha pant is more like the original Dockers chino, that was more rugged and casual than what we now associate with the chino pant. The Dockers Signature is the culmination of what the chino has become - i.e. lighter biz-casual pants made for older men, who may want to iron a crease down the middle of the leg. In contrast, the Dockers Alpha is the pant you want to wear with boots, while foraging through the forest or anything that requires outdoor activity.Nothing against biz-casual wear, but the dressy chino is just so mundane. I love the Dockers Alpha and I find it shameful that the clothing industry has, for the most part, turned the chino into a dressy pant. Hopefully Dockers will continue making the Alpha forever and offer new fits when necessary. I've always preferred rugged chinos and always will, so while I might change my preference on the fit, it's unlikely that I'll ever prefer a more dressy chino.
