"Dear, did I remember to tell you today that I adore you?" Beautiful timeless tale of a married couple who grow apart.
Having met and married early in their lives, after a successful twenty-year marriage, wife Fran asks husband Sam to take her to Europe to celebrate his recent retirement from a lucrative career in the auto industry. Living in Zenith, a small town, the slightly younger Fran wants to experience what she feels she has lost while taking care of her husband and children: losing grasp of her youth. While things begin well, Fran begins flirting with anyone and everyone. Sam understands that Fran is acting like a child, so he continually forgives her indiscretions. But soon Fran's flirtations turn serious, even hurtful. Sam is left with many decisions to make about his wife, if she ever loved him to begin with, and how their European trip seriously changed their relationship.Sinclair Lewis pens this story of love and infidelity so well. Written in 1929, this story is still relevant and insightful. Beautifully written, a must-read for those who loved the 1930s movie, "Dodsworth" as well.

Lewis in Disguise as Dodsworth
This book deserves some attention as it reveals a man's dilemma in marriage problems. The movie Dodsworth is also good and it is why I chose to read the book.
