They come wheels down,there is the parts to have them in flight.The only part thats metal is the armature of the stand,so discription is misleading.They are 3,1/2inches long so take up little space.They look great once a small amount of assembly is complete..They are fragile so up on shelf out the way of dusting.A great gift from the golden age of aviation.

Some parts are loose fitting and fall out easily.
