I brought it primarily for decoration and in that regards it is just fine.

I felt like I didn't give this locomotive a proper review
I felt like I didn't give this locomotive a proper review, before, I remember talking about the DCC harness coming loose or falling off completely, that's why I needed to re-write this (simply due to bad memory) I remember seeing the locomotive again recently at a relatives house (I'd brought it there as I was scared we'd had bigger issues with some water pipes) I thought somewhere that the DCC strip of wire that plugs into the cab fell off or was mishandled in such a way it would, thankfully it didn't but that shows you how tough these things are built, (I would not recommend you throwing a $150 mode around) and the best thing is these engines run on 15" radius curves (or at least Hornby 1st radius) this is a really fantastic little model..... I also wanted to mention this locomotive happens to have a lot of modeling potential I bet you could make this as close to the real #3 as you want, I'd still run my tyco model (but that still needs work) I really appreciate bachmann for producing this, even if It does need a little extra lubricating when it comes out of the packaging....Also I would not recommend this at all for kids, sure I know bachmann has a long history with them with their T&F range I remember having a few as a little kid, (a James and Thomas set) but these would not simply suit, just simply because of all the little intricate detail and the "fragile" DCC plug, but I know I say it is tough but not as tough as there Bachmann Thomas models these 4-4-0 models still have some fragility to them....

High torch
The Bachmann DCC General is light but can pull a load... It's designed for real life performance which was slow in 1860.. The true test is how great it does pulling loads, it's torqued to pull not speed!! Disconnect the wired port from the tender to the Locomotive when working on the engine....the wires are sensitive.
