Great looking addition to the kitchen
Love the range of colours and designs. So easy to set up and use straight from the box. This has very quickly become the go to music Bluetooth device for all the family. Also great sounds when streaming from my phone.

Just lovely !
Well let’s face it it’s a girly radio I wanted something retro to carry from room to room with as I’m pottering about I haven’t bought the battery pack but on opening and inspection worth the 79.00 I paid for it not sure I would pay more than a 100.00 for it cause it’s a radio but the volume is fab very loud and clear and the blue tooth is ace it’s got about 62 stations on it love it ! and again looks just lovely !!!

pretty and powerful
Absolutely love my new radio, it looks great and the ease of use and quality is impressive. I'm really pleased that I got the rechargeable battery with it as it means I can just pick my radio up and take it with me wherever I am in the house or garden without missing anything.

VQ radio
The wallflower pattern is so very pretty on this radio. I bought it as a present for my daughter as it is so easy to set up and play, and it looks really nice in every room in the house. She thought it was just lovely!

A brilliantly useless product that sounds superb, but is fatally compromised by stupid design.
This radio sounds superb for its size and price, for both speech and music.I can't, however, recommend it because the design ergonomics and battery life are awful. We actually bought two, one for me and one for my partner who does not live with me.We also bought the battery for each as that was what we really wanted, a DAB radio you could use in the garden, bathroom etc.First of all the battery idea is plain daft and very 'un green' because you have to buy a dedicated lithium cell like a phone and you can only charge that cell by plugging in the radio. The problems with this are many:1) One of the batteries was faulty and would not hold charge at all so had to be returned.2) Even the 2 we have that hold some charge only last 4 or 5 hours at best, and at moderate volume. Turn it up a bit and it lasts 2 hours. This is nothing like what is claimed.3) Because of this frankly idiotic design decision the radio is basically useless for the task for which it was built because once the battery is flat you have wait 5 or 6 hours before you can use it again! How bonkers is that?!!!The Sony radio that got dropped and, sadly broken beyond repair, and which this was bought to replace used AA batteries. So you could always have a set on charge and when they went flat (much less often than the supposedly better lithium cells in this radio) you changed the batteries - no big deal. Cheaper and more sensible because when the radio gets broken or fails at least the batteries can be used in a torch or whatever. When this radio fails there will be a cell battery for landfill or recycling because it cannot have any other use.So if you are buying one of these to use in the garden, don't, they are basically useless when used with their battery unless you are only doing so for a short period. Also there is no battery indicator so you can't tell how long is left, it just suddenly stops. The control panel and sleep functions are very unintuitive and very hard to use. Please designers accept defeat and just have some buttons that do what you want them to do.- Six buttons for your favourite 6 channels.- A button for the sleep function.- An on and off button that just does that.Everything is buried in a menu, like a gen 1 BMW idrive and its easy to go down menu rabbit holes and got lost and end up starting again. Even the on and off button is confusing because it does different things depending on how long you hold it down for. Regular use makes this less of an issue but why make it like that at all?To sum up then:Great soundGreat receptionLooks greatHeavy, which is probably partly why it sounds good and I think is good but I guess if you were disabled might be an issue worth at least knowing about.Destroyed as a sensible buy by its stupid battery solution which must have seemed good when the designers were in the pub but does not work at all.Fiddly and difficult to work especially if you have 'old' eye site because buttons are confusing and the screen is small and hard to read. The sad thing is I really like this radio, its visually charming and sounds much better than any other DAB I've ever come across for the money or size, but if you can't use it on batteries in a sensible way then the whole point is lost. You may as well use a stereo in a room.If you are just buying it for a kitchen, where it will live on a shelf, look 'designer' rarely change its channel then buy one it will fill your kitchen with sound. If you intend to carry it around and use the battery or sleep function don't buy one, Sadly if you need a multipurpose unit that works anywhere its basically pretty useless and however VQ might argue the opposite in theory, in practice its the most frustrating object you can imagine because its never charged when you want it to be.What VQ should do is produce an AA or C battery cradle that fits in the slot, like Canon do for their SLR systems so if push comes to shove you make the camera work on petrol station batteries. Canon think their products through well on the whole, VQ it seems don't, which is a shame because the basic idea and quality are good. What a missed opportunity this radio is, its so nearly superb, but actually pretty useless!
