Cyfres Amdani: Stryd, Y

I couldn't put this down, compelling. It's about everyday people dealing with difficult situations, that many of us could see ourselves in at some stage of our lives. Highly recommended for Welsh learners.

This is a foundation level book so good if you are doing the Learn Welsh Sylfaen course or have got as far as the Past Short and Commands section, or Revision 2 in Duolingo. The vocabulary is simple but the book gives you good revision of the simple past or preterite tense.

Excellent read

Sylfaen-level students should have no trouble reading this book, and in the process will become more familiar with direct speech. The short word-list found on most pages will add to their vocabulary bank, and includes common expressions as well as single words.Y Stryd is peopled with modern Welsh characters whom most Welsh people will be familiar with. Structured in such a way as to tell separate but ongoing stories, each with its own conclusion, the book never gets boring. Highly recommended for learners at that level.
