Great for Beginners or to brush up Crochet skills.
Great beginner's book or for brushing up on forgotten skills. It's a very good overview of easy crochet and if you follow the instructions and don't rush, you WILL end up with a crocheted item.Nice close up pictures of yarn, hook, and hand positions for easy crochet stitches and very easy and useful suggested projects. This book plus a couple skeins of colorful yarn, and a package of varied sized crochet hooks will make a fantastic gift for a young person or someone who wants to go over the crochet basics. I gave it 5 stars for these reasons.

Perfect for new crocheters!
I bought this book after getting frustrated trying to learn how to crochet from the black and white drawings found in other crochet books/pamphlets. I found the instructions and photos extremely easy to follow, and also liked that the book has supplementary information on hook sizes, yarn types, decreasing and increasing stitches, and felting crocheted items. The book does seem to be geared towards younger (teens and early 20's) people, but I didn't find that it detracted from the book. As far as patterns go, I thought they were just OK - nothing special, although there is a pattern for a round felted bag that I thought would be really cute to make for my daughter. Overall, I was very pleased with the book, and feel that it is worth buying just for the crochet instructions alone. I also highly recommend the Leisure Arts I Can't Believe I'm Crocheting DVD.

Good book thank you!
Very informative book. This book plus a local class allowed me to learn knitting. Enjoyable, relaxing hobby.__________Purchased it for a class only to find out they should have labeled the class advanced. Not beginner beginner. Returned the book as the class I signed up for at Pacific Fabric was a waist of money and time. Yes I would recommend it as it as a very informative book.

Crocheting
I love this book. It tells you blow by blow how to do each stitch. The best part is: It shows you how to do it whether you’re left handed or right handed. I hope you keep selling it. A lot of people, I’m sure, would like to learn to crochet or learn different stitches the right way like me. Thank you!

LOVE THIS BOOK
I have looked at this booklet for a while, but I fought ordering it since it looks like something a teen would buy. I am so glad I committed to it. The pictures are in here clearly show which direction your yarn needs to be held and how it should look after you make a stitch. I have been crocheting incorrectly for years now. I'm 50 and I taught myself how to crochet when I was 10...incorrectly I might add. Now I know how to do it correctly and I have finished several projects. Buy this booklet for anyone that wants to learn to crochet.

Great for Lefties!
I tried for years to learn to crochet and couldn't find anyone to teach me as I am left-handed. This book has detailed instructions, with photos(not drawings), of all the stitches, with the left-handed version on the opposite page of the right-handed one. Using it, I was able to teach myself all the basic stitches, and I have gone on to make many projects, including an afghan, baby items, and hats for charity! This is actually my 2nd copy of the book--I gave the 1st to my left-handed daughter!I highly recommend "I Can't Believe I'm Crocheting" to anyone interested in learning this skill--left-or right-handed!

I really needed this book after a twenty-year hiatus from crocheting and knitting. At the age of 88, I committed myself to supplying the delightful new patterns for preemies. Maybe with the addition of new stiches in patterns, I overestimated my ability to fullfil the needs of the economically-depived for a little beauty. It has become an ugly world out there!, but I can try. to add a little cheer.

This book is the Best particularly if you are Left Handed
My Nana tried and tried to teach me to crochet. I have bought many books over the years however I could not "see" the instructions in my head so all was lost on me. (I'm 65 now)Now this book comes into my world. It has clear and detailed illustrations for each stitch and wow, at last this left handed person can understand how to crochet.thanks so much to all, I just love this book. Dianne xo
