Poetry written and hearts smitten
I read this book a while back before I got really involved in the book community. I seemed to enjoy it just as much today as I did then. This book had little of everything. Fake dating, single mother, forbidden (he's her advisor) and all the dirty talk. Its a quick read, kind of felt like I blinked and it was over. I didn't develop a strong attachment to the characters, or have my heart strings really pulled but I enjoyed the ride none the less.

Another great book
I really love the way you can feel what the characters are going through… an emotional, great book like always.

I admired Poppy for her determination…
This review is going to be tricky for me because the one thing I want to talk about isn’t mentioned in the blurb so I don’t want to spoil it. I’m going to TRY to share my feelings about xo. Zach without spoiling the surprise. It’s not often I come across a New Adult, College romance that involves a staff member and a student, that doesn’t make me scoff. See, I have relatives that are teachers and there is NO way I can see how a teacher could fall for a student. Maybe it’s because my relatives are happily married with teenage children of their own. Or, maybe it’s just that they respect their position and their duty to the students. Obviously, it’s a wee bit different for college-age students, but, I still don’t see the appeal.Anyways, I didn’t scoff at xo. Zach. I think it was because Zach is an advisor, not a teacher or Professor. It could also be because Poppy is 24 years old and takes her studies VERY seriously. Zach and Poppy met before they knew each other on campus and their attraction to each other blossomed straight away. So, for me, this wasn’t a simple TABOO relationship. Both Zach and Poppy are aware that her studies come first and his job is important to him. I never felt that *these two are crazy to risk the fallout* feeling. These two are smart and I respected them for taking their time and being cautious.I have been known to read a New Adult Romance and feel a tad frustrated. More times than not, I'm frustrated at the characters immaturity and hormone-driven decision making. In this case, I was pleasantly surprised. There is a lack of communication to some degree, but in this case, it was completely warranted. If anything, I respected Poppy more for her caution, hesitation and dedication to staying on track. Poppy thought first and acted second. Sure, she stumbled and nearly fell, but the complications in her life stopped her from landing flat on her back. It was a nice change. Now Zach, bloody hell!! He was almost perfect. A word nerd (I have a soft spot for word nerds) with tattoos, a smoking hot body and all the right moves. I really liked Zach and I wanted him to get everything he wants and desires.I really enjoyed xo. Zach. It was a quick read that kept my attention from start to finish. The characters were interesting, the storyline was an *oldy but a goody* and the chemistry kept the tension buzzing. Special mention must go to Zach’s Mum as she absolutely cracked me up. There’s this one line she uses about Zach and his self-pleasuring that I was desperate to share the humour. Unfortunately, my 14-year-old son was the only one home…and I definitely wasn’t going there. If you’re looking for a quick read and don’t mind a bit of NA college angst, I definitely recommend xo. Zach.

A beautifully written romance
xo, Zach by Kendall Ryan is the perfect romance if you're looking for a low angst book with the perfect man to fall in love with. From the moment you meet Zach you can't help but fall in love with him and how he interacts with everyone he talks to. Poppy on the other hand takes a bit of getting used to.When Poppy meets Zach at a party, sparks fly, but when given the chance to give him her number she leaves it to chance, she never expected to run into him a few days later as her new advisor, and for the attraction to be even more intense than it was before. She has sworn off men, and she has her goals set, but Zach is relentless in his pursuit of her, and Poppy gets in her head so much that even I got frustrated with her. She's really the only thing standing in the way of these two getting together, and Zach does everything he can to prove to her he's a good guy and willing to do whatever he can to give her what she wants.I adored watching Zach break down her barriers and pursue her goals as well. I laughed at his antics, and wanted to strangle Poppy at times during this book. I did understand Poppy's hesitance towards letting Zach in, but she should have seen earlier than she did that his intentions were pure and he may have talked a big game, but his actions proved that he was a good guy and truly wanted her for more than just her body. This book really was a long story of Zach truly beating down Poppy's barriers and getting her to give in to what could be an amazing relationship. I adored every single minute of it and all of the banter between them. The push and the pull and everything in between. The only thing I wish we could have seen more of, is what happened after Zach finally got her to give in. Granted, the ending was perfection for these two, but I just was left wanting more!If you're looking for a sweet romance, than xo, Zach is the perfect book for you. Once I picked this one up, I was unable to put it down! Zach is definitely a character you won't be able to stop yourself from falling in love with!

4 Stars - SPOILERS
I enjoyed reading this story, Zach came across as a lovely guy which is hard to find in your typical romance bokks; most male characters are written as hard, rude male whores, but Zach just seems like a normal person which is so refreshing to read. I liked the fact Poppy wasn't just an average, boring, lust-stricken student crushing on her adviser, but she actually had morals and thought about her own future, as well as her sons. Their sexual chemistry came across really well, my only problem was that the story seemed rushed. They started talking because Poppy told Zach he needed to pretend to be her boyfriend at a party to make her ex jealous, but it was over too quickly?? Not even sure why it was part of the book, I would've preferred if they actually interacted with the ex at the party, played along a bit more to make it interesting. The ex could've popped up later in the book too just to create a little bit of tension and suspense to keep the plot exciting. Also, I would've loved to have seen more poems from Zach to Poppy, it was hinted that he wrote her poems every Monday but we only got to read one, which was a shame. Even with these points mentioned, it's still definitely worth a read.

Beautiful Sweet Story
This was just the book I needed sweet slightly sappy with very little drama. What do you do when your dumped and in walks your ex with his new girlfriend, you could walk away or be like Poppy and pretend you’ve got a new man. Enter stage left Zach in all his perfectness. Why I have I never met a Zach, he’s funny and sweet, romantic and could charm you out your pants with very little effort. Poppy is a single mom working hard to make a good life for her son. Poppy has been hurt in the past so it was fun reading Zach trying to break through her insecuritiesI really enjoyed this book and I’m going to go back and read the authors previous books.reviewed by Sweet Spot Sisterhood

3 Poppy and Zach Stars
I did enjoy this book but I didn't love it like I thought I would. The cover and the blurb are fab and there were elements of it that I really liked but it didn't quite work for me as I'd expected.Zach was super intense right from the start and it felt a bit too much. Poppy irritated me with all the barriers she put up and all the pushing away. When they really do get together it is so lovely & gorgeous and gave me all the feels. Their chemistry is hot and you cannot doubt the connection between them. I found Zach' s mum a bit over the top for my taste but I get why she may work well for other readers.HEA? YesCheating? No

Fabulous
It's a Kendall Ryan book so you know it's going to be fabulous. This is a really sweet romance between Zach and Poppy. Great chemistry and beautiful how the relationship grew between both of them. Especially for Poppy to learn to trust and accept in someone other than herself. The love notes were beautiful but I wish they were shown in the book. The friend's were totally great and so was Zachs mum. Great fun and comedy moments. Than you Kendall

Swoony
This is a cute, sweet and swoony romance that has all the feels.Zach is a university advisor, and Poppy is one of his graduate students. A single mum, she feels an intense attraction to Zach but tries to stay focused on her goal of graduating from university and providing for her son.The conflict that these characters feel is evident on every page. Their love is hot, sweet and sexy. The supporting characters are hilarious and add the right amount levity to the story. A really great book.
