Q: Has this actually helped anybody. And does it really take the edge off like an cigarette?

I used it nearly 24 years ago to quit, and I've stayed quit all this time. I didn't just take this though. I also tapered off from 5+ packs a day over the months before my quit date, and disrupted my other habits before quitting so I was starting with a blank-ish slate in a lot of areas of my life. I was able to travel to another state while I was doing my final taper, so I wasn't around anything familiar, and that made it easier to let go of a habit that didn't fit anymore. I don't think taking this tonic by itself would be enough for most smokers to quit, but for me it was a definite support, and I did feel it took the edge off. It's possible the effect was entirely psychological, but what's important is that I was able to quit. Even now, I keep a bottle of this stuff around because I associate the taste with self-care, so it's calming. Don't just rely on this though. You'll probably need to make a bunch of small changes in your life to support your own efforts and succeed at quitting. Good luck!
