This was an assault, I bought this book thinking it was the book of Miller. The cover is a hoax.

This is not Tropic of Cancer the stunning breakthrough experimental novel of Henry Miller. This is Barry Russell's creative recreation of the novel in its Parisian contexts during the depression of the 1930s. My suggestion is read Miller's novel first and should you want a creative re-creation of how Henry Miller might have discovered the novel's inner structures and meanings then enjoy Russell's remarkable memoir-like re-invention

This is NOT henry miller's book!

I wanted a book by Henry Miller, but instead I've got a book about Henry Miller's book. I found it to be a bunch of nonsensical ranting and did not finish reading it.

I’ve read a few other analysis’s of Henry Miller’s work but I like this one the best. I think this author has come closest to figuring out a great but complicated author who changed the way of literature through his style of work. We must examine who we are, why and what IS the real truth about us and the world in which we live.

Thought I was getting the actual book, not a critique!
