How does this sling attach to standard m4 style ar 15?  my rifle doesn't have swivel sling mounts, do hooks come with this sling, will it still work?

Rock Mountain Tactical writes:  Thanks for the inquiry.  Fortunately, there are literally 100s of different styles and manufacturers of parts to mount slings to the AR15 platforms these days.  The list is too long to write here. This VTAC mk2 upgrade sling has 1" nylon straps that will work with any 1.00" or 1.25'' mount, hook, clip or swivel.  These slings come with ladder locks for securing the sling to whatever mount or clip that is used.  Yes, this sling will work with the AR platform, but you have to determine / decide how you wish to mount the sling...check out google, you tube, vtac's website and many other websites regarding options. My favorite is to use QD push button 1.25" swivels on both ends and have the correct mounts for the QD swivels.  That way you can take the sling on and off very easily.  Good luck with your search. Is this strong enough for an M82A1?

I can not answer that directly sense I have not tried it on that particular platform. That being said. My 12 year old has found it to work well and be much easier for him to pack his 16 pound precision long range rifle from stage to stage. Im guessing an m82 will weigh prob 30-35 pounds. But i would not be afraid to give it a go. Seems well built well stiched and not a ton of plastics. Sorry thats not a true answer to ur question but hope it helps. Good luck in ur adventures.

What kind of hardware do i need to attach this to my weapon

basically you need a 1" sling swivel forward (side or bottom rail) and rear at the buttstock.  I have both my forward and rear swivels attached by QD (quick detach) so if you choose this method and aren't set up with the female base, you'll need the kit.  Magpul, UTG, Daniel Defense, STI, etc etc  have QD swivel kits with varioius attachment methods.  Just look up QD swivel kits.  if you have swivels and they aren't QD, that still works.  I just like the ability to take my sling off without undoing it at the buckles. Hope this helps.
