It seems there's kits all over the place these days for just about anything. I remember when this stuff was reserved for pro's only. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I think it's great the average Joe is having more direct access to pro level tools and solutions. What tends to not be so good are the manufacturers making kits geared more for price than the outstanding quality pros demand. What that has forced me to do is look at everything with scrutiny. I take apart battery packs to make sure the cells inside are what they claim, do hardness tests on knives and machetes etc to be sure they won't bend or snap in half etc etcI think Helicoil can fall into that category as well. Depending on what you're using this for it could be a do or die situation, so you want a quality kit and repair!. No one wants their vehicles alternator or whatever to come loose and lead to God only knows 10 hours from home on a trip.This kit uses the tried and true free running coils with a tang on the end. Nothing wrong with that, just be sure you can deal with the tang in debris free situations...but anyhow, back to the set.The coils are made of quality material, the notch and tang look just like they are supposed to and the "diamond shape" of the new thread/coil is very smooth and consistent. Everything looks high quality. The kit includes everything you'll need. Drill bit, tap, coil, tool to thread it in and even the punch to bust the tang off! Surprised they didn't even include the hammer. LOL Seriously though it's a nice kit to add to your collection, even if you just have one hole/problem to fix, it's better to get a whole kit like this for just a little extra expense. This way you have the ability to fix other problems in the future!Good luck with whatever you're fixing. (Hopefully not a Ford 5.4/4.6 spark plug...thanks Ford!)

I seem to always be needing thread repairs when I'm working on old rusted equipment and now with all the imported equipment I've had the need for repairs on the metric system sizes. This is a great little set with all the important sizes together in one kit. The repairs I've made with them have worked out very well so far. Highly recommended.
