Been a camper for many years using a hatchet to cut kindling wish I would have seen this earlier. Very simple and easy to use. Would highly recommend to any camper out there.

The media could not be loaded.  Because it is operated manually, there is no need for either power or gas, which makes it an environmentally beneficial option for splitting wood. Log splitting is often a grueling operation, but thanks to the splitter's portable design and low weight, it may be transformed into a reasonable and even pleasurable exercise. Both the splitter and the hammer benefit from a durable and long-lasting design thanks to their solid construction. The wedge-shaped construction of the splitter enables accurate and effective wood splitting, and the sledgehammer is the ideal accessory for it since it enables the wedge to be driven through even the most difficult logs with relative ease. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to split kindling on a regular basis. This is a great and safe tool to split kindling efficiently. It is not a log splitter but will split smaller branches. I have seen some posts say it’s only for softwood but that’s not true. It will split seasoned hardwood quite well. One thing I love about this product is that it was developed by a teenager trying to innovate the process of splitting kindling to make it safe, which she did quite well! My seven year old splits kindling for me now!

Nice product along with sharpener and hammer. Haven’t gotten the blade sharp enough to split yet. Bought a bit to sharpen the blade but still need to work on it to get it sharp enough to split wood.

The media could not be loaded.  This splitter is worthless. It is a completely blunt blade with zero edge on it at all. Posted a video of my finger running up and down it and pressing hard. They send a sharpener but it should come with a usually blade. Not even close. Do not purchase.

This does an okay job once you kind of figure things out.1. Obviously, you need to leave about an inch all the way around the wood you are trying to split or it will lock up against the ring.2. Could really stand to be just a little taller, if you have wood that is "stringy" and does not want to split straight, the added height would help.3. Is AWESOME for splitting down smaller pieces of kindling. I have found the trick is give it a good smack or two with the sledge to start it (I use a 3 lb hand sledge hammer) then grab the hammer with both hands and really hit it hard and it will generally split right in two. If you keep trying to use smaller whacks it does not work as well.For Durability, not really sure. I have used this on two camping trips so far and the edge of the blade already has a couple of significant knicks in it. (no it was not from sledge because the ring will stop the hammer from going that far) These are just from the wood.I would recommend one because it is GREAT for making small kindling but you should probably start out with something no larger than about a 4 x 4 for the best results. trying to split anything larger it does not work as well and is more difficult. but you can have great control for making nice 1 x 1 fire starting kindling. At some point I will probably order the original to see if it is really better.
