Room to write notes in the catechism. Spiral is large. Easy to use. For the company, a bit sturdier cover could be used in the future, since this is something the kids will keep. Maybe laminate it before binding?

Perfectly described and what I was looking for! Very similar to what I used growing up for confirmation classes!

Luther’s small catechism is a cherished possession for years to come! I read it often and will use it to teach my kids the faith. The content of this catechism is so easy to understand and so theologically deep at the same time. In the Q&A, every answer has several Bible verses backing up the Lutheran position, showing the Sola Scriptura position is taken seriously. The book itself is so well made and the price is outstanding. I recommend this book to everyone wanting to learn the Christian faith.

After viewing the excerpts of the 2017 edition of Luther's Small Catechism with Explanation, I decided this revision was different enough from the blue 1965 revision and the red 1991 revision, both of which I own. Although I will always keep the 1965 version around, this latest revision appears to be relevant to the present day without sacrificing the Confessional Lutheran distinctives of the earlier editions. When this edition is back in stock with Amazon in the hardcover edition, I will probably buy the physical book as well. There is a good reason why Martin Luther believed the Catechism and the Bondage of the Will were his best works and everything else was straw ... both works stand the test of time and are liked by some modern Catholics as well as other kinds of Protestants. I'd add his Smalcald Articles to the Catechisms and the Bondage of the Will, which I believe he composed near the time he made that statement of his two best works. The Catechism and explanation not only teaches young children, but is useful in devotions for adult Lutheran Christians, along with Bible reading. I carry my 1965 version along with my travel size Lutheran Study Bible and Book of Concord set.

This is the best translation and exposition of the Small Catechism (Martin Luther) available in the market as today. The 2017 version deal in it's explanation with current social issues that pertains to the daily life of every Christian. The daily study of the Catechism is recommended by all Church authorities as it contextualize the biblical knowledge in a systematic way unparalleled by any other book, aside than the Bible itself.

This is an amazing edition of Luther’s Small Catechism! It is perfect in size, it has a really cool texture, the print is a good size, and the expanded notes seem to be very biblical and Christ-centered!If there was one thing I would like to change, and I know this is a more personal preference issue, it would be for Concordia to make another edition using the KJV, as many people still prefer this beautiful translation (in a few years the ESV will be the old translation, and something new will be temporarily popular, but the KJV has stood the test of time, and time makes it only more beautiful! It stands out as unique, in a sea of translations.).In short, it’s amazing and I highly recommend it to both your mind and eternal soul! ✝️
