Timex Men's Expedition Scout 43 Watch

This watch is just all around great and well built. My girlfriend got it for me for Christmas and it's currently my everday work watch. I work in a very hot, humid and wet facility and I frequently have to go outside as well, it’s wintertime right now so it’s very cold outside, and the temperature change has no effect on the watch at all. It keeps great time. The glass on the front is mineral as opposed to crystal which enables it to resist most scracthes, it doesn't sratch as easliy which is something I noticed on some of my cheaper watches. Unlike my G Shock, I probably wouldn't want to completely submerge this time piece only because it does have a leather strap and I also don't fully the trust 50m WR rating on there, but I have gotten the watch and the strap wet several times and it has responded very well. I also like how big the display is. It isn't huge by any means, but I think the smaller 40 mm model wouldn't have suited me very nicely. I do have bigger wrists so I like to have a bigger face on the watch. For me it fits most comfortably 4 notches up from the bottom of the strap. Could the band maybe be a little longer? Sure, but it does the trick for me. Would recommend this watch to anyone looking for an affordable and durable time piece.

The watch is a beauty but Timex quality has dropped considerably. I purchased this watch in Aug/2017. On Dec 6th 2017 the light stopped working. Two days later (today) the stem broke off. $40 shot. I remember the old days where Timex takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Evidently not anymore. Yes, Timex will fix the watch but they want a seven dollar check for return postage. I haven't written a paper check in 4 years. Good luck.

Since my husband loved the look of this watch and had an older Timex that has served him well, I bought it for him as a gift. The watch was losing several minutes a day right out of the box, so he went to the battery store to have the battery tested. He had a new battery put in when the original tested bad. However, that did not fix the problem and it actually gets much worse when the watch is actually worn. I am not crazy about having to spend $7.00 return postage to Timex for repairs when the watch never worked to begin with.

This is my second expedition. Rated a 3 be cause like other reviews, my first expedition lost the winding mechanism in about a year rendering it useless. Im not rough on my watches. I like the look and size of the numbers for 60 yr old eyes. Indiglo feature nice at night or when hunting. Use it for casual everyday use and outdoor activities. Hoping the quality holds on this one because the looks and price are very good.UPDATE- Have to take rating down to 1 star. Within 1 month the winding mechanism came off my new watch just like my previous. Unfortunately I was on vacation for 2 weeks and I'm over the 30 days exchange policy so have to deal with having it repaired at Timex. Timex customer service helpful but said they can't entertain replacing with a different model but only repairing. I sent in the watch for repair because it is useless otherwise but I fear the winder will just fall off again in the future. Same problem with two brand new watches not acceptable.

My wife gave me a Timex Expedition about 15 years ago. At some point the INDIGLO light quit working, but other than that it has lasted through multiple batteries and wrist straps and still keeps time.But I became enamored with these new stylishly large watches such as this Expedition Scout 43. I've seen the reviews of it and other Timex watches that had reports of being received defective or malfunctioning after a short period of time. Some reviewers commented that Timex seems to be having a quality control problem. I ignored those reviews and ordered this watch anyway because I think it is such a cool looking watch. Well, when it arrived, it was dead on arrival--couldn't get it to run. So I've returned it for a refund and don't want to take a chance on ordering another one. I guess I will stick with my old reliable Timex Expedition.

I've been a fan of Expeditions for years. This watch was bought to replace an older expedition (6-8 yrs old) that finally quit. That may not seem like a long life for a watch, but my Expedition is my "daily beater", my everyday anywhere watch -- routinely gets dunked, covered in mud, banged around, The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the band -- it's thinner and lighter than what I remember from previous Expeditions. I'll probably change it out for something more substantial anyway, but the watch should come with a better band. If your use is less demanding, the stock band will probably serve well. It is a good looking watch.

I like this watch very much. I come to Amazon daily because it has just about everything I could think of to buy & I found myself coming back to this watch everytime I came back to Amazon. I have bought 3, this makes 4 Timex watches & ( I learned not to take anything for granted), because all my other Timex watches glow in the dark so naturally I thought this watch does also.... wait a minute, I got my watch yesterday and when I went to bed I pulled the sheets over my head, (simple pleasures), & to my surprise,!! It doesn't glow in the dark! But all isn't lost, it still has indigo on it. A standard on Timex. So I still have something to play with in the dark. So......, I have now 4 Timex watches & I really like them all!So go ahead & buy this watch, it is a handsome time piece on your wrist, it is on mine! You won't be disappointed in doing so.... I have had several Expedition watches before and wanted something just a little fancier. This watch met all my criteria. It looks fashionable but yet not too pretentious with lots of buttons, dials, etc. that the casual user would never use. The Indiglo light is bright and with the larger dial, you can easily see what time it is even in the darkest surrounding. I will keep my older watch for use when I am really in the rough but this will be my everyday watch.

Clear dial and easy to see time, second time i’ve bought this model, first one only lasted a couple of years before it began to lose time, about 1 minute per day. I hope this one lasts a lot longer.

El reloj se ve increíble! Tuve mis dudas al comprarlo y tardó aproximadamente 9 días en llegar, sin embargo el reloj superó mis expectativas, es cierto que se ve mejor en persona que en las fotos. Se ve de buena calidad y la caja llegó intacta junto con el reloj.Pese a que tengo la muñeca pequeña siento que el tamaño es bueno y por el precio no se puede pedir más. Lo recomiendo.

Watch seems and feels sturdy, however the timekeeping is terrible. Original unit was off from the actual time by about 2 hours by the next morning. Replacement unit was off from the actual time by 20 minutes within the day. I had the battery replaced just to see if that was the issue, but the problem persisted even after the replacement. Online reviews and Reddit have raving reviews for this watch, so it's kind of weird to see how poor the QA has gotten. It almost feels like Timex is trying to clear their junk inventory or something, so avoid purchasing this model specifically.

Un reloj muy bonito, hecho de buenos materiales y a un precio adecuado. Si no sabes qué regalar a tu pareja o a tu papá, este es el regalo perfecto. Además con la sorpresa de que tiene lucecita para observar la hora en lugares oscuros jajaja. Quizá el pequeño detalle de que no tiene un estuche para guardarlo, pero eso es lo de menos cuando tienes un reloj que no te vas a querer quitar.

Es igual a la foto. Me gusto mucho y a la persona que se le regalé le encantó.La luz ayuda mucho a ver la hora por la noche y le da un toque especial. Fue el primer reloj que compré de esta marca y llenó mis expectativas.El único detalle negativo fue que el reloj se cayó de una altura pequeña y se abrió y perdió la batería. Pensamos que ya no serviría pero lo llevamos con un relojero que sólo le puso un repuesto de batería y nos cobró 20 pesos. Lo ajustó bien y el reloj sigue funcionando Perfecto y se ve muy bien.Sin duda seguiré comprando estos relojes.
