This Mag Disassembly Tool Works!
After seeing the youtube videos on how easy it is to disassemble a Glock mag with just a metal punch and squeezing the mag's sides, I decided to give it a try. Not! The mag the reviewer demonstrated on must have been popped many times before. On a virgin mag you would need three hands and a lot of strength. Try as I may, I couldn't get the bottom plate to pop.I did some research and ordered the BASTION tool which arrived in two days. It worked like a champ on a brand new Glock factory mag (G22). And with the integrated Glock punch, it's a great product at a reasonable price!(Note this review is strictly about the Mag tool, NOT the front sight removal tool. Combining the reviews for both tools is a mistake and makes it confusing for the consumer!)

sturdy construction.
Simple design and feels sturdy. I like that you have a punch pin included with the tool.

Glock magazine plate remover.
The tools is good and works great to remove the magazine plate, but the “sight” tool does work, you need a special tool for the front sights. I bought it because I thought it would help me with my front sights but it doesn’t , you need a special tool that looks like a mini screwdriver. Disappointed that the front sight tool is useless .

Works on Glock plates but large for others such as Pearce
The pin on these that fits into the hole in the base plate is rather large and must be pushed into the Glock plates with some effort. Once in, it works fantastic. However, if you have Pearce Grips Extensions on your mags the pin is too large for the hole. When I got it barely into the side of the hole I was able to RIP the Pearce Grips extensions off and I do mean RIP. They did not slide off as they are designed to but were pulled off the ends by flexing the rubber grip extension around and off of the mag groove. Bottom line is that it worked and was easier than the old way. I plan to drill out the holes in all of my base plates to match the pin better which will not impact their function and I will have a great system.
