Can’t make it through the year without a couple of these in the office. Although I have to pretend not to see the price (almost $40) when I add it to my cart.

Love the academic year calendar.
We use the academic year calendar for weekly/monthly meetings and the summer is the best time to change the calendars.

Oversized, Conspicuous Calendar
Life can be chaotic and keeping up with this and that especially with work and kids is not easy. The AT-A-GLANCE Academic Year Wall Calendar is a great way to keep on top of things and as a new school year approaches, this couldn't have come at a better time. Let me preface by saying the calendar is huge! It takes up way too much precious wall space to make it something I can hang in my home, but I do have it laying on a large table in my library, where it will be staying for the duration of the new school year. There's ample space for writing pertinent information, especially given my daughter starts high school with quite a lot on the academic agenda.Overall I really like the large format calendar. It provides a sort of meeting place for the family. Even though we are all plugged into the digital world, this calendar brings a collective unity with notations about when and where and what time. There is no excuse for losing track or forgetting appointments with a huge, conspicuous calendar there to remind everyone in the house that there are dates to remember. The price point may seem steep, but this is a durable calendar you can write on all year long. It's like a thin, portable dry erase board that mimics a paper calendar. It comes with a pen, but unfortunately the one I received arrived with the cap off and dried out. Also, at current price point it would have been nice if a mini eraser was included. With that said, paper towels will suffice as the surface is easy erase.~ Kort

So nice to be able to see the entire year at a glance
I have this wall calendar hanging next to my desk at school. I love being able to see the year at a glance and know when my kids and I are scheduled for the library, computer labs, and STEM labs, at the same time that I can see parent conferences, minimum days, deadlines for grades, meetings upon meetings, etc. I use Google calendar, and it's okay for day-to-day things, but you can't beat something that gives you a comprehensive view of the year. This has really helped me in planning things for both school and my personal life. The one drawback is the spacing. The calendar is huge, but I think a little more dead space could have been cut off the edges and holidays could have been recorded in gray rather than black so they'd take up less space. I still write over them, but if I were making a wish list for next year's calendar, that'd be on it. This is a good calendar, and it's always a plus to find a good calendar that is set up on the academic year rather than the Jan-Dec year, since the academic year is the one we live by.

Mount with thumbtacks to a bulletin board
Apps and paper-based datebooks do a great job of displaying the day, week, or month, but not such a good job showing you what you've got coming up over the next year, and sometimes, that's what you need. Do I need to start planning my kids' upcoming vacation yet? Am I missing work too many days, or am I away from my family too often over the next few months? This is answered well when you've got this wall calendar all filled out. You can use a different color for each activity, or maybe for each person in the household. My calendar came with one black dry-erase pen, but splurge for a multicolor set. You'll also probably want a dry-erase eraser, though a paper towel will usually do the trick. There are no mounting points on the calendar, so I just used pushpins to place it on a bulletin board. You can use either the vertical or horizontal orientation as each is on one side of the calendar. The dates have plenty of room, esp. if you use a fine point marker, and erasing works just as it does on a dry-erase board.
