Well priced 20mm quick-release buckles, lovely polished surface, but there are a few sharp edges
These buckles arrived in a small bubble wrap lined mailing pouch which was tightly sealed up. Each of the five provided buckles was wrapped with a piece of clear cling-film type plastic, which kept the halves tightly together and prevented any damage from the buckles knocking into each other in shipping. The build quality is fine for the price, but they’re not entirely perfect, visually they’re made to a nice standard with no noticeable blemishes on the mirror surfaces, and they open and close without much effort and are very strong for the size. However, a lot of the sharp edges haven’t been properly cleaned up before they were plated and there are quite a few sharp burrs. The sharp spots are in locations that shouldn't be a major concern, but I've definitely felt them scraping on my nails while operating the buckles occasionally, and some of the five are worse than others. I’ve personally taken a small needle file to remove the rough burrs, but it shouldn't really be necessary. It also means that I've had to remove the outer chrome plating to round those edges off, so time will tell if that causes any issues with the durability of the coating down the line. I’ve tried to show the sharp bits with an image, but it’s difficult to get my camera to focus on a mirror polished surface at 10x zoom.My only other comment is that they’re prone to making metal clicking noises if the buckle isn’t under enough tension, a loose fitment with these is a recipe for a noisy and irritating connection point that will click with every step or movement. But that’s to be expected with a metal buckle like this and if you use it on a strap that is under any sort of tension from being tightened up or holding something it doesn’t make the noise at all.The current price of £10.89 for a pack of five pieces feels fair enough, £2.18 per buckle is reasonably good value with a small & understandable markup over what these would cost to import. They’d easily be a five-star buckle for me if I didn’t need to remove some of the sharp burrs myself, but since the burrs are mostly in places you won’t see or feel, and they’re well priced I've given them the benefit of the doubt on this and kept it at four stars rather than three.

As described
At just over £2 each for the 20mm size, these are great value.
