Great knife! Very sharp blade
I wanted a small cleaver style knife. This one is sharp and beautiful. It cuts like a beauty! I appreciate the feel of the wood handle, which makes it more comfortable and easy to use. It comes with a great case to protect the edge. I enjoy cooking and having the right knives for the job makes it all the more seamless. I’m doing as I cook. I believe that wood cutting boards complement these types of knives well, so I would suggest grabbing a wood cutting board as well. But I am thoroughly enjoying this product and now want to try other style knives from this company. I’d definitely order this one again.

Sharp and well balanced
I love this knife. It's sharp, well balanced and exudes quality. The subtle grain pattern in the wood handle enhances the beauty. It's a great tool is you like the Japanese style Chef Knife. As a cleaver, the blade is a bit narrower than a typical American cleaver, which takes some getting used to. However, it excels as a Chef Knife. My only really complaint is that it doesn't come with a sheath. The blade won't fit in a typical wood block and it takes up a lot of room on a magnetic holder. We have to keep ours in a drawer. A sheath would help protect the edge and other items in the drawer.Highly Recommended

A Visually Appealing, Strong and Sharp Blade!
I selected the MDHAND Chef knife as I did not have a cleaver in my kitchen utensil collection. This is an exquisite blade! From its ergonomic handle to its striated blade, this knife is as beautiful as it is functional! It is great for chopping and slicing. It also cleans up, easily, with a warm water rinse!

sharp with nice balance
I use these nakiris for slicing through dense veggies like onions. Since the blade is flat and very sharp, I can cut through with a single motion without having to pivot my wrist too much. Using a bigger regular knife would probably accomplish the same thing, but if you're doing a lot of chopping, less wrist motion can be a good thing. It was nicely balanced, and mine was about 6.7 oz in weight. The grip of the handle was comfortable.I'm not sure the laser engraving helps that much, but it sure looks nice when sitting on my magnetic holder.Overall a welcome addition to the kitchen.

SHARP Right Out of the Gate
The blade surprised the dickens out of me with how well honed the edge was. Although the description claims it's a cleaver, I think it's too light to be an effective one. The reality is that as a nakiri, its purpose in life is to slice through veggies and other tender ingredients with a single downward & forward sliding action. The etching isn't as pronounced as in the picture; but being mostly aesthetic, it's not a big deal. The packaging is decent -- a simple black box with a bottom that drops out, revealing the blade within. The inside is lined with the usual cut-to-form foam and the knife comes with a plastic guard to protect its tip.The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is an indentation towards the top front of my blade. It caught my eye immediately and can easily be felt. A real shame. I tried to get a picture of it but to no avail.Nevertheless, it's a solid knife and I like its HRC rating. I'm digging this, daddio -- groovy👍

Very sharp
I have used this knife for a few weeks. It is still very sharp. The pattern on the knife is also very unique and interesting. The handle is very comfortable. For the price, this is a great kitchen knife.

Slicing made easy with this beauty
This Nakiri knife is a game changer in my kitchen! It slices through veggies like a hot knife through butter, and the high carbon stainless steel keeps it razor-sharp after multiple uses. The ergonomic Pakkawood handle feels great in my hand, making chopping less of a chore. It's also a great gift for any cooking enthusiast. Seriously, if you’re looking to upgrade your knife game, this one’s a must-have!

Sharp!!!!
This knife is very lightweight and super sharp! I have already cut myself twice with it so be very careful. I definitely think it's a good quality knife but as far as it being advertised as a butchering knife I think it's too lightweight for that. I am very pleased with it so far.
