Menopause...bring it on !
I have just finished reading Liz Earles ''Good Menopause guide''. It was a totally refreshing book which kicked aside some menopause myths and felt like a chat with a friend. It was informative ,helpful and above all has made me feel better about this stage of my life .Before I read the book I was truly dreading what lies ahead but now I am no longer worried and instead am ready to embrace the coming years. Thank you Liz for taking time to break down the barriers on this taboo subject and for giving me the tools and information to celebrate the changes and embrace life as it comes, menopause and all..Bring it on!

Good place to start
There is a lot of misinformation and frankly rubbish written about peri-menopause and menopause (based on my 14 years of going through it and continually trying to find out more on the basis of proper evidence). You can wade through all that if you want - I had to - or you can read this book. I would particularly recommend it anyone who is just starting out on the menopause 'journey' - it's an accessible place to start and I wish it had been available when I was 40-odd. It weighs up the pros and cons of HRT, deals with some of the more 'embarrassing' issues around female health, gives signposts to other resources and backs up statements with reference to the research. To be honest, I'm an avid collector of cook books so I probably didn't need the recipes but I still enjoyed reading them. Take that or leave it, the point though is that menopause is as good as time as any (and maybe even forces you) to have a rethink about food, health and lifestyle and this book covers all those things in a non-preachy way.
