Just make sure you have it on target for the core as much as possible - the first time I went a bit wonky!

I love fresh pineapple but i hate trying to peel and core the things. When I saw this I thought I would give it a go even though I was quite sceptical about how it would actually work.OMG...everyone who love fresh pineapple needs one of these. Yes, it's another kitchen gadget, but it's a gadget that really works. Seeing the size of it and the size of the pineapple I bought to try it out on, I thought there was going to be a lot of waste. Boy was I wrong. It's so easy to use, you just cut off the top and bottom of the fruit, I then placed it in a large bowl, and you centre the 'bore' in the middle of the core of the pineapple. Then you just turn the handle as if you're winding up a clock. It cuts through the fruit really easily and the bowl catches the juice that comes out of the bottom. When the cutter has gone right through you pull it slowly out and find a perfect spiral of fruit which is easy to slide off the stainless steel core. You can then just cut down one side to leave it in rings or cut the fruit into chunks. I don't think I will get tinned pineapple again after trying this.

This pineapple slicer created a big whoooohooo in our house. Everyone gathered around the table to unbox it because we weren't sure what we were getting. The kids loved putting it together and then trying it out on a chopping board. We used a very ripe pineapple and the joy on the kid's faces after it cut slice after slice of smooth, tasty pineapple. The tool is sharp, so it will need to be kept on a top shelf and care taken when washing, but it sliced through the pineapple with ease and left lovely rings and a big thick chunk in the middle. Nothing was wasted but the skin. Very easy to use and we just washed it and popped it back in the box for storage in the cupboard. A great product and bit of kit!

I used to have a plastic pineapple corer but it didn’t work well so I threw it away. When I saw this stainless steel version on Vine, I thought it was worth a try. It arrived in a box with instructions for use printed on it. It’s a very simple gadget; you just attach the handle, place it over the core after top and tailing the pineapple and you’re good to go.As per the photos, the gadget does work but it takes a lot of effort and perseverance and I was sweating by the time I’d finished! This might be because I don’t have a lot of strength in my hands, so others might find it less of a battle. The handle was quite fiddly to attach; the black buttons need to be manoeuvred because they’re not a great fit. As shown in the photos, the end result was pretty good but it did leave some of outer skin in places. Unlike my previous corer, this one is a fixed size so the bigger the pineapple, the more of it will be left behind.Generally, this item is a good buy at £7.95; with effort, it works well and easy to clean.

I’m not one to write reviews unless something is really good or really bad. This I was quite disappointed in. Firstly you have to push two buttons at the side to attach the handle, without force and fiddling around for ages it doesn’t click in properly. When I finally did get it in, used the item and wanted to remove it as the instructions tell you to, a load of black bits from the handle also came off with it leaving black bits on my pineapple. Personally, upon first feel it felt very cheaply made and then the handle just proved this to be true. Not sure how much pineapple corers are these days but I would try a more expensive one if you’d like ease when using and don’t want a bunch of handle bits stuck to your pineapple.

I've had one of these before and they are great.This one peels and slices the pineapple well.Its a pain to clean, but ive put it in the dishwasher ok, there also bulky to store, but if you like pineapple, but had the price of pre cut pineapple its worth it
