I don't believe the one inch difference will matter. My old springs were slightly different also. Can't remember if a little longer or a little shorter. I believe as long as the spring diameter and the coil diameter are right they will work when adjusted properly. Mine were for a 16' steel door with factory insulation.

Mine were not rusty but they were oily and made my hands dirty quickly which i think is normal with any springs I have ever replaced.

I believe there are other vendors on Amazon that have tables showing the proper spring. Replacing these springs is a very dangerous job. If you’ve never done one I’d suggest you just hire it done. You’ll get the right springs and the entire system (door, rollers, springs and opener) will be optimized. The door probably also needs to be serviced. Rollers adjusted, lubricated (or replaced). Etc. During the installation you adjust the tension on the springs so they split the load and so you can raise the door with just 2 fingers manually. If you don’t do it all correctly you can damage the door and/or your opener.
