Calling all Minecraft fans!
This is fantastic book. It's pretty cheap in price compared to dollars. Paper quality a bit they could improve. But it's worth the price. As always delivered in time. Thanks.

You're going to have to work at this book
To start with, my copy, like others I've read about, has heavily black marked pages. Definitely avoid this if it's going to be a gift. Many builds require the reader to do some work in interpreting the designs and plans in order to build them in the world; however, this requires considerable work. Some of the buildings in the beginning of the book are exploded reasonably well, but you're still going to be counting bricks, and working out what some of those bricks actually are. I recommend a magnifying glass. These designs are also for creative worlds; they are not sufficiently well lit for survival (roofs with solid blocks are killers for unexpected spawn) and the floor plans are decorative rather than functional. Some of the, "mix it up," suggestions are difficult in survival, like the amount of obsidian required for the towers; and the overhangs on the village house builds would not validate for villagers, so if your aim is to turn a village into a populated castle area, then you're going to have to make adaptations. There are forums which discuss an error in the portcullis build, so be on the alert for that. This will give a builder a reasonable start, however. The dimensions are good enough to get things going and give a push in the right direction... but you're going to have to work for it and study some of the diagrams carefully.

Worth every penny!!
Bought as a present for my nephew, this is a really good quality book. Really nicely set out with lots a great pictures and an idea of how many blocks you need to construct some very impressive buildings. We have a few books for minecraft inspiration but this is probably now my favourite, as it gives good clear instructions for a number of builds to create a whole medieval city if you wish (includes some redstone projects). Definitely a gem of a book for all minecrafters to have in their library and well worth the money paid.

Absolutely Brilliant book!
I was amazed to see how BIG this book is when it arrived today! It's the size of a kids' annual! With hard covers as well - and illustrated throughout in crisp, full-colour, it contains some brilliant tips and ideas for building an amazing, realistic and very impressive-looking fortress. What's more, you can use these principles to go on and develop your own, bigger and even better palace if you have the imagination and flair! After an earlier disappointment with a different, little book I'd bought that was supposed to present ideas for house-building in Minecraft, this has really made my day! Excellent book, excellent quality and excellent value!

Challenge your kids
Buy this if you feel that your child spends a lot of time in Minecraft and challenge them to learn something from the book.Whilst it's a great book to get them away from the computer, the book really shows the inner composition of castle's and their constituent parts such as turrets and gatehouses. A clever 8 year old would be able to re-create the structures from the instructions much like a lego creation. The rest of the official Minecraft books are interesting but this seems to be targeted at more of the creationists and a little older of an audience.A great buy for my 9 year old.

Content excellent, print quality poor
Great book but pity about the print quality. This was purchased as a present otherwise I'd have returned it.The content of the book itself is excellent. It's such a pity that as others have noted the current print runs appear to be very poor quality. The paper it is printed on is perfectly OK, it's just the printing itself if smudged almost like it didn't dry properly before being bound.
