Pioneer VSX-933 7.2-Ch Network AV Receiver,Black

This unit is a replacement for a significantly more expensive high end receiver that was fried in an electrical storm. The previous machine had significantly capabilities and wattage output, allowing for fine tuning the theater experience but with an enormous operator's manual with probably over 100 different setup combinations and options. It was a nightmare to program and balance to the environment. But I'd bought it, and was determined to use it until it failed. But it did put me in the position to know that a replacement machine needed to have only a simple basic set of capabilities and far fewer options, as well as being just powerful enough to drive my components. I want to listen to my classical CD collection with concert hall reproduction, watch dvds and television programs High-front Surround Sound. and listen to radio with good fidelity as background noise during the day. The major money needed to be in the speakers. So far this receiver fits the bill precisely, with a great price, quick and painless setup, and intuitive remote controller thrown in for good measure. This is the machine I really wanted in the first place.

I'm having an issue getting the receiver to pass through the UHD signal from my Nvidia Shield to my UHD LG TV. When the receiver is removed from the loop the TV recognizes the UHD connection. I have proper HDMI cables so I'm inclined to theorize the issue may lie with the receiver upscaling an already 4K signal. I have JBL Northridge E Series speakers and have been enjoying the 5.1.2 decoding the receiver provides after using the MCACC setup. I have yet to explore the plethora of the receivers other features.

The Pioneer Vsx-933 is a great receiver for the money and has exceeded my expectations. I had a Denon before this and needed to upgrade to the latest HDMI standards for 4K and HDR. The sound quality is every bit as good as the Denon was, maybe a little better. Be sure to run the Mcacc as this will set all the channel levels and delays for your particular room. Please note that if you need rs232 or ir remote port you will have to upgrade to Pioneer Elite model, as the 933 doesn’t have them.

Airplay does not work right. Cuts in cuts out. This amp has never jut worked. It has been a struggle from the beginning getting it to connect to my iPad or iPhone on Airplay. It randomly shuts off after two minutes of playing. I have never had this much trouble with a piece of equipment. I will never buy another Pioneer. They used to be a good company with good equipment but I am totally dissatisfied with this amplifier. I am sitting here now trying to listen to music from my iPad and it is cutting in and out randomly and frequently. What a POS.

A highly rated receiver that delivers sound and video far better than any others in this price range. Easy to connect components and a wide variety of convenience and performance enhancing features.

I bought this receiver to update my 32 year old VSX-3300 pioneer receiver not because there was anything wrong with it but because it was outdated and didn't have the connections needed for todays TV's , blueray's ..etc..After a lot of research and reading reviews I bought the VSX-933 and it has been great. Very easy to use and setup and everything works as it should. I'm thrilled to see Pioneer is still making a quality receiver.

The receiver is simple and easy to setup. I recommend anyone to select this model if they're looking a reliable Pioneer Receiver.

this receiver vsx -933 form pioneer has all the functionality. it works very good with no trouble at all the sounds very good i wound say this receiver is a five star rating just love it.

I loved this receiver the short time I had it. It was a returned receiver and was seller refurbished and on sale, so the price was right. Anyhow only worked for a week or so which happens. Once applying for a return everything went into slow motion which put me off a bit. I did buy another brand which was more than twice as much from local store which again were on sale, but was new in box. Anyhow all is good now and would buy seller refurbish again when ever I can to save some dollars. thank you.

Had a Technic that I love. Had a Denon that I didn’t (display faded and sound not as powerful) now I have the Pioneer and so far (3 months) I love it!
