Tried it once just to test as they are part of a “go bag”. Ive read online that some people found a chlorine taste to them. My thought is, well....I would rather have that than dirty water but truly, just like this time of year (Colder seasons such as Winter and Fall) even tap water has a slight chlorine taste and just like tap water, just fill a glass jug and let the gasses dissipate. Same can be done with these tabs and “that odd taste” other reviewers have mentioned will just evaporateas well.They work and that is the main thing. I The price is better than a camping store and the quality is just as good if not better.The pack i got has an expiry date of late 2022. Happy with that and they’ll be used! DO check your expiry date when you recieve yours.Money well spent. Don’t let any other review on “odd taste” put you off. Every tab i’ve tried had had that, it’s normal and in my mind, it means they are effective not to mention, easy to get past if you’re that thirsty and it won’t kill you. I’d rather have a slight “odd taste” than drink dirty water!!

LISTEN TO THE OTHER REVIEWS! These tablets are at least 1 year expired. Water purification tablets are NOT something you wanna buy expired. I disregarded the negative reviews and bought some for my friends and I for our trip to Nepal (Nepal doesn't have clean drinking water from the tap). All 4 of us used these tablets to purify the tap water we drank during the trip. We followed the directions on the package to a T and mixed the water VERY well. The water tasted fine with only the tiniest taste of chlorine (also mentioned by other reviewers). Fast forward to Day 3 of our trip and 2 out of 4 of us end up hospitalized with acute gastroenteritis (aka, traveler's diarhea). We were both in there for over 5 days with the worst stomach pain imaginable. I can only attribute it to these inaffective tablets. Pay a little extra to get NON expired, good tablets!!! Let this be a warning to all future buyers!!!

The tabs work really well, I always have some with me whenever I go camping, hiking, fishing or hunting. I bought a proper sized collapsible water bottle so I know exactly how much water I have for the dosage. Couldn’t ask for any better! Has no weird crappy aftertaste that I have noticed.

These tablets are tiny and weigh essentially nothing, making them ideal for backpacking. The packaging is paper but it's lined with plastic so it will keep the tablets intact if the packaging gets wet. Once the water is treated there is a slight chlorine taste, but it's so subtle that we sometimes can't tell if a bottle was treated or not. A great product if you want to lighten your pack.
