Q: How does one connect a RD 2000 to this amp?

Connect the mono output from the keyboard (1/4” pin mono cable) to one of the input channels on the speaker amp. Unless you use two speaker amps, you are converging stereo output to mono to the speaker amp.

Q: Would this amp be loud enough to use in a 16 piece big band?

If a small venue- yes I think so.

Q: Is there only battery power supply? What battery size and type are used?

At 50 watts, the KC-80 does not run on batteries at all. Perhaps you are thinking of the KC-220 that has an option to run on either an AC adapter or 8 AA size batteries?
