2nd Time Was Charm
Decided to give the Gauntlet 2 a second chance and I'm so glad I did! Thanks to Amazons great return policy I swapped out the original gun with all it's problems, noted below, and got a new one. What a difference! This one was well assembled and has held full pressure for over a month plus it's very powerful. The only ding I have with the Gauntlet 1 and the Gauntlet 2 is their inability to maintain consistent accuracy given it's long floating barrel design. I sight mine in for dime size targets at 50 yards, no problem with the Gauntlets, but don't touch or bump the barrel before the next varmint needs to be dispatched or you will miss. My solution was to get an after market bracket from HajimotoProductions.com that braces the barrel to the air tank and locks in your settings when the gun is moved. The gauntlet 2 delivers high capacity, high power and great accuracy with a little tuning.Fist Gun:It is a well designed gun but Umarex can't seem to build it! This is my 2nd Gauntlet .25cal. I purchased the Gauntlet 1 three years ago and after many mods I finally got it to shot consistently with both accuracy and and full power. Alas, after much wear and tear and from over driving it the unit gave up the ghost. I decided to try the new Gauntlet 2 which supposedly has a lot of the same improvements I had incorporated into my first Gauntlet. My new Gauntlet 2 arrived and I was very disappointed to see that their manufacturing quality had not improved. The barrel was loose, the tank was positioned so it couldn't be filled the mounting rail for the scope was loose but worst of all and what will cost the most to repair, the air system has a slow leak, losing about 500psi a day. Is it internal to the gun or a Ninja tank problem? For now I get to refill my gun every few days without even firing a shot. So much for a bigger/higher pressure tank. I will probably return it to Amazon for a credit and look for something else. It's a shame that Umarex can designed such a great gun and then be too incompetent to build it. Maybe the third time will be charm, if there is a Gauntlet 3! Sorry, I don't plan on waiting!!

Fatally flawed .25 PCP UX Gauntlet 2air rifle.
The 25 caliber UX gauntlet 2 PCP air rifle is my 26 acquisition of air rifles, varying from break action, CO2 and PCP. The calibers range from .177, .22 and .25. This air rifle is long and heavy at 47 inches and a measured weight of 8.6 LB. It is regulated and may be charged with the pressure of 4500 psi. It also supplied with a foster quick connection. This rifle, however, is completely unsuitable for either bench shooting or hunting due to the extreme force required to cock the bolt action. The force exceeds what can be measured on my trigger gauge. The force required to cock the bolt on this rifle exceeds the force required on many of my brake action rifles. It is estimated to be in the 40 to 50 pound range. The side lever rifles are very smooth to use and highly accurate for bench shooting as well as hunting.I highly recommend that new owners of PCP air rifles avoid bolt action rifles, and use the new side lever designs.Edgar G., PhDProf. Emeritus of Mechanical and Aerospace EngineeringFellow ASME

So far, so good. You get a lot for what you're spending
I have a .25 cal Benjamin Marauder, so I had a lot of ammo and had already made the investment in the required fill equipment. This is the hard bit with PCPs as the gun itself is relatively easy; you're not going to get by with just a hand pump. Be prepared to spend more on tanks/pumps than you are on the gun.The tank is pretty voluminous compared to the Benjamin so you get a *lot* more shots per fill. You get two magazines with it, which will be enough to hold you for a while. The single shot tray is also included and is a much welcome addition. The magazines appear to be total crap, but I normally use the single shot tray. The trigger on the Marauder is significantly more refined, but I have yet to try and adjust it. It's not heavy or anything, just that it has noticeable take up and not altogether a clean break.Overall as a bench gun, this seems to be an improvement over the Marauder. Build quality is adequate, but I wouldn't take this out in the field much. The balance is a bit weird, and it's heavier than it looks. It has a kind if delicate feel to it for the lack of a better description. For target shooting it's totally fine. It has a bit more power, and is considerably more reasonably priced so it's easy tradeoff. This would be a bit of an undertaking as a first gun, but not too unreasonable. Getting it filled with air is the challenging part, but pumps are getting more and more reasonable. Overall I'd recommend this.

Deadly Raccoon Sniper Rifle
Have so many raccoons on my farm that they pee and poop in my feed bins enough to ruin the whole bin. How they are getting through corrugated steel is a mystery. Got the .25Dropped a Wraith 4K Mini Digital Rifle Scope, 2-16 on it. Literally sighted in with first shot. Crow Magnum pellets leaving golf ball sized exit holes in their heads at 50-75 yards. One of the top three PCP Airguns in my collection. Accurate and powerful, regulated and huge bottle for around $400. Freaking LOVE IT!

Impressive rifle
Powerful and accurate. Getting right over 1000fps using crosman hollow points 14.3g. After 10 shots there was only a 2fps difference in the shots. Trigger was bad out the box but was somewhat easily adjusted to a crisp 1lb pull. Filling the tank from 0psi to 4500psi took almost 15 minutes with my cheap electric compressor and it held air overnight at max psi. I do not think I would have been able to fill this rifle all the way using a manual pump compressor. It's not really that loud compared to some other pcp I own but I still put on a moderator to get it even quieter. This rifle loses 1 star for no power adjuster, having to take the rifle out of the stock and take out a screw that held the rear hammer end cap to do trigger adjustments( screw was in the way of my Allen key), and the bolt is rough and heavy to pull back. Other than that it's a tac driver

Everything was not included in the box
Whenever I received my gauntlet it was not in its original package and did not come with my instructions ,magazine ,and single shot tray.It was only wrapped in plastic and in a long cardboard box. Trigger is a little long too but other then that decent pcp.
