not perfect, but i really like it
Notice in the headline I said "I..like it", not 'my kids like it'. My kids are too old for this, but fortunately I am not :-) Although this is aimed at kids 6 and up, as a 60+ year old kid with a love of cool tech toys, I found this to be a lot of fun. It contains a huge number of [Lego-compatible] pieces and comes with instructions to build a car and a few musicians [yeah - I wondered about that, too...]. Unfortunately, there are no instructions for building the dinosaur pictured on the container, and there are none on their web site. Speaking of the web site: it really stinks. There is little there of use except a link to the android/ios software used to program it. There is also a link to a Windows application that comes with no instructions and seems to do nothing at all. The web site could use a LOT of improvement. Maybe add instructions for all of the pictured constructs? I do object, VERY STRONGLY, to the there being no PC version of the programming app. Yes - it is purely graphical, but why force me to go to a tiny phone screen instead of a large PC monitor? This is a really infuriating trend. I guess development for android/ios is cheaper than developing for windows, but for us folks with clumsy fingers it is truly annoying to use on a phone screen. But, minor quibbles aside, this deserves 5 stars!

Tons of Possibilities
This a good beginners robotics kit that will help introduce your student/child to programming. There's tons of projects and possible builds with your own creativity being the real limit to projects. I wish that this product had rechargeable batteries built into in instead of having to use consumable batteries. In addition, if you want to use the scratch programming you must use the phone app in order to do this. Otherwise, you are left with the direct control mode or the intelligent mode, which sort of defeats the purpose of using this kit to learn programming.

A bit pricy, but at least it's fun
This kit was received well by the child it went to. There are a lot of little parts, so probably not the best for the younger kids. There are 400 pieces, but when you look at everything, that's not really a lot of things that can be made from that at once. You only receive one "servo" for your project(s) so you will need to tear down for each item you put together. I know that servos are not that crazy priced, it's not like it's a raspberry pi or anything, so it shouldn't be that crazy to ask for at least two in a kit like this. Other than that, this kit is a good learning tool for a child with a mechanical or programming interest, it allows them creative freedom to play with a variety of tools and to figure out how to resolve puzzles on their own.

Good instructions but not intuitive to program.
My two teenage children and I enjoyed assembling a few of the projects. Unfortunately, trying to play with the programming side with anything other than the predefined programming was difficult and not user friendly. The symbols used are not easily differentiated and coupling them with other functions was a chore. It ended up getting mothballed soon after. The quality of the hardware was good, but the software could use some refinement.
