Amazing experience that I can't praise enough.
Man oh man, I can't praise Amazing Spider-Man Venom Inc. enough, I haven't been following Amazing Spider-Man but I've been doing everything in my power to read as much Venom as I can before the new Venom movie releases and it doesn't disappoint. I picked this up to continue following Venom from Mike Costa and was incredibly impressed. What has been provided by writers Dan Slott and Mike Costa and artwork from Ryan Stegman and Gerardo Sandoval is truly a gem and one of my most favourites in my small collection. I saw the reviews and heard it was great but didn't think much of it, I just wanted Venom #159-160 so I dove in and was taken by surprise and immersed by a well written and exciting story with fantastic artwork. It's a great lengthy arc that is a full story (assuming you've read previous Venom issues from Mike Costa to understand more about Lee Price). It is refreshing from previous Venom issues by having Flash Thompson and Spider-Man giving it more amusing and comical elements, something that makes this volume stand out as previous volumes of Venom are dark and serious, it's not overly distracting having the funny moments but they are there and in my opinion add to the value of this volume.Amazing Spider-Man Venom Inc. collects Amazing Spider-Man: Venom Inc. Alpha #1, Amazing Spider-Man #792-793, Venom #159-160 and Amazing Spider-Man: Venom Inc. Omega #1. The order that it's read in is Alpha #1, ASM #792, V #159, ASM #793, V #160, Omega #1. A very brief overview of this volume is that Flash Thompson is trying to find his symbiote but learns of someone who has stolen a symbiote and asks Peter Parker for Spider-Man’s help, eventually learning of a new crime lord rising, Flash, Eddie, and Spider-Man must join together to take them down. The cast is wide, featuring Mania, Flash Thompson, Spider-Man, Eddie Brock, Lee Price, and Black Cat with the compliment one another only improving on the already great story making this a must pick up. It's probably my favourite offering of what I have read of Venom soon far and it will be hard to top it. The one thing I will say is the artwork does noticeably change from the ASM and Venom issues since they are back to back you will notice it, it's really the only grip I have and isn't really a grip and very minor. You may prefer one artist over another, I know I did and for me it's Sandoval but Stegman does a great job and I look forward to seeing more from him. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase, so much so that i plan on giving it another read in the foreseeable future and I'm debating on buying it digitally so I can have it on the go. If you're on the fence, don't be, this in my opinion is the best (so far from what I've read) of what's offered of the Venom volumes from Mike Costa. If your wanting to follow Venom after Venom Inc. we will be skipping issue #161 as I believe it's being saved for Venom Vol. 4 with issues #164-165 which is due out soon. Next will be Venom & X-Men: Poison-X which collects Venom #162-163. Following that is Venomized which doesn't collect any Venom issues, if you get Venomized you need to read Venomverse first as it's the first part of the story, or really even before Poison-X.If your like me and am trying to get into Venom before the new movie releases I will recommend some upcoming and not yet released Venom comics that are coming out to hopefully help our knowledge/enjoy reading Venom. (These are not in any order or release or anything) first is Venom by Daniel Way: The complete Collection (2003), it releases September 25 2018. I look very forward to this release as I'm a fan of Daniel Way's Deadpool so will be picking this up. Next we have Marvel Platinum: The Definitive Venom, it will be a great collection to show important events that happen to or involve Venom, this releases September 13 2018. We also have Venom Vol 1 by Donny Cates, this is a new Venom comic which is still ongoing from the date of this review, sadly this won't be out until after the movies is in cinemas, December 4 2018. Then last but not least Venom: Dark Origin, it came out in 2008 but they are reprinting it and releasing it on September 11 2018, this is meant to be a single volume so it should contain a nice story in itself since it's only one volume. I look forward to getting my hands on all of these. Hopefully this helps you find out what you may want to start with.Hopefully you found this review helpful and happy reading.
