Works as a pressure sensor in Home Assistant!
If you're looking to integrate this as a pressure sensor for home assistant this will work great as long as you use Zigbee2MQTT you get access to the following.Water leakBattery lowBatteryTamperLinkqualityScrews are on the back so you can connect your wires!FYI: There is no speaker on this device so if you're looking to use this as an actual water sensor, I would look for something with a speaker so you don't have to rely on your phone.

I sent it back.....
Don't actually know if it works or not, but in order to set is up you must read the instructions..... they are printed in a teeny tiny booklet that is so small that I can't even read it with both my glasses and a magnifying glass..... Who knows, may be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but unfortunately I'll never know......

Avoid for SmartThings
I do not have one of the specified hubs listed in the ad, so I am not taking stars for my trouble. I was able to make it pair with my hub with a custom driver, however I am having the issue where it says it is disconnected regularly. So, I would avoid using it with SmartThings.

Works with Abode hub, but Quirky
These pair up just fine with my Abode hub using the web application. If they are not triggered every day or so, they will go offline. If they are triggered when offline, they reconnect. My suspicion is that they power down communications when idle to conserve the battery. This is a significant drawback when you need a water sensor in a crawl space or somewhere else that is not convenient to check on, as you won't know if the problem is as described above or a dead battery.

Set it and (mostly) forget it. Guard against serious water damage
The device has two metal nodes on the bottom. When both are submerged (when the circuit between is completed) then you get a "water presence detected" notification. Note that a minimum amount of water is required for it to work and so strategic placement is crucial. This could detect a major leak or, if placed well, a slow drip. Both are the kind of thing you want to catch as early as possible and this is the tool for that job.The device works on a Zigbee network. Fully Home Assistant compatible which is how I have mine set up. Setting up it relatively straightforward with ZigBee Home Integration.Signal is robust. I have mine in a kitchen cabinet 30' feet from the Zigbee reciever.Battery will need to be replaced approximately every year. So you could set a calendar reminder or automate a low battery alert. Haven't used the app very much but maybe this can all be set up there.

Doesn't work with Wink
Bought this to connect with a Wink Hub 2. It turns out that no matter what product you add in the Wink app, the Maxcio device is detected by the hub as a "Door Open/Close Sensor." Not useful for a water sensor. The problem is that Wink hasn't added drivers for this product.I'll have to spring for the $37 Aeotec/Smartthings Water Sensor, which works with Wink. (Or, maybe upgrade my Wink Hub.)
