My Dell laptop is now nine years old, and the original battery just failed. Why? Old age I would suspect. I did buy a new Dell battery two years ago and it was charged every six months or so and put into my laptop's case. So, when the original battery failed, I put the spare Dell battery into the laptop for round two. Since I only had the one battery now, I began looking on Amazon for a replacement, just so I could have a spare.I chose this battery and just put it into the laptop to check it out. It looked exactly like the Dell original and the Dell spare battery. According to the manufacturer's Amazon page, this is the one for my computer. Not only that, it has a one-year warranty. It came 53% charged and the computer is telling me it will be fully charged in 30 minutes. So far, I have no issues, the computer has reported no problems, so everything is good. I think I will leave it in the computer for a week or so just to make sure there are no issues and go from there. Maybe I will just leave it in for a while longer than that because I know the Dell battery is good because it has been working for a month now. Time will tell.Wow, I cannot believe that this computer is now nine years old. Windows 10 is coming up on end-of-life. I guess I will just have to buy a new computer soon since Elon Musk does not yet have the wet-ware implants available for sale.

Made for each other
This is as OEM as you can get. These batteries are super easy to replace. Press the button, take out old one, and slide in the new one. This battery seems solid, at par with original, charged well, and provided the juice for the duration it's supposed to. I didn't use any voltmeter, amp-meter for a detailed check as its working fine and the laptop is not making any fuss about to too.

Perfect Match
In short, the M5Y1K Laptop Battery for Dell Inspiron 15 perfectly matched the battery I replaced. It already had a base charge on it, so I was good to go! The battery is charging when the laptop is plugged in. And, the laptop operates as expect when the laptop is running off the battery. I'm very satisfied with this product.
