PIP 396-800 Hi-Vis Hard Hat Visor and Neck Shade

My use of the this visor is somewhat unique. I wanted a sun shade brim that could be applied to a bicycle helmet. I had been looking for a long time for a helmet that would be practical to wear while playing senior doubles tennis. I finally found one that came down in the back of my head with not too long a brim at the front at Costco for just $15.00. I have been wearing a "Sun Protection Zone hat for several years that is wearing out. If you are on blood thinners, a blow to the head can be extremely serious leading to a hemorrhagic stroke. I thought a bike helmet would be better than a construction hard hat for a variety of reasons.: More secure on the head, specifically deigned for falls. light weight and breathable, and a secure chin strap. The negative side is they provide little protection from the sun.The EZ-Cool 396-800-YEL Hi-Vis Hard Hat Neck Sun Shade With Visor fits very nicely on the hemet and should provide an ideal solution for my situation. As an aside I purchased two additional full circle hard hat brims from Amazon, but this will be the best for my particular purpose.I was already rather distinctive on the court with my previous hat, but this should create even more interest as I'm already seen as sort of an "odd duck."

At first I didn't know how to get it to stay on but then noticed there's a little flap underneath the main peak. This flap sits neatly under the bicycle helmet peak and stays in place. It's quite a long peak but since I ride mostly in an almost upright position on my folding bike it works for me. If you were leaning forward itmight affect your visibility. Shading effect is fantastic!

I bought this to add to my helmet as I am a bike commuter. I get a lot of looks but also a lot of compliments ;)It fits well, my helmet is one that has a lip at the front that this piece holds snuggly onto, otherwise I'm not sure it would stay in place.It DEFINITELY works, shades my neck, provides better visibility, and shades my face more than what I have. It's also sturdy enough to hold in place in the wind.My only preference, now that I'm using it would be to have something that shades my face from more angles. This is more like an extended ball-cap, so it does a good job but depending on the angle of the sun can miss shading whole sections of your face.

It looks funny but it does the job. To me, it's the best hard hat accessory.Downside: it's fabric, therefore, needs to be washed constantly, different to other plastic visors. After using it for 8 months, the front part color has faded much more than the rest.Pros: Great sun protection, wide enough to not affect your view range, and the neck coverage is excellent too. The fabric is thick enough to not let any dust get in your way, and overall it's lightweight as well.I would buy it again.

This is a nice sunshield but not to fit over my bicycle helmet or under my bicycle helmet comfortably, unfortunately. That was my hope based on a couple comments I read. I had to return this for that reason

I bought this product to wear with my bicycle helmet because of other reviews I had read. It works great, definitely keeps the sun out of my eyes. I put my helmet on first then put the visor on and push it down so it goes below the helmet. When riding I usually have to push it up once in awhile. At first I tried the shade halfway down over my helmet, but it kept flying off. I love this visor. Who cares if I look a little silly in it. I’m passed caring about that!

This seems to be a very popular item as there were many who wore this same hard hat visor/neck shade on the construction project. It is very effective for keeping the sun off the back of the neck and the visor protects direct sunlight to getting to the face.
