Thirteen

AWESOME show but the dvd I bought skipped and repeated itself on the second episode. Extremely disappointed, I really wanted this series for my collection.

Jodie Comer is a phenomenon. Script has no false notes ( except brain bleed in the female detective ); you must keep watching until it’s all over. All characters are intricately believable; their destinies interwoven with craft and interest. Kudos to cast, writer and producer.;

Jodie will make you think she was actually the girl held hostage. Some of the show is based on a Austrian's girl who was held for 8 years.

This was not your typical crime story. I liked its novelty. The acting was great. The stories had some holes in it, but were easily overlooked. It definitely is one of those stories that makes you think. Entertaining. I recommend it.

A good mystery for BBC once again. Why does it seem like BBC gets it right so many times and US keeps disappointing? The song from Dark Dark Dark is haunting but so good that opens up the show.

Wow, this was a gripper. We were glued to the movie from beginning to end.

Series was hard to follow, but still good. Don't get up or you will miss something.

This drama for me is Jodie Comer's career best performance. I cried a lot through most of it. No it's not depressing it's very touching, moving. There's variety in the storyline. Though it's fiction it's close to real events in modern history. No way she can top this performance. A must see, especially if you have daughters.

Thirteen focuses more on the aftermath and fallout of the kidnapping than the actual crime. I cannot imagine in the real world that the police would have treated the victim Ivy the way that they did after 13 years in captivity. I would have thought the first stop after the escape would have been a hospital for physical and psychiatric and psychological intervention and evaluation. Especially when its clear how damaged Ivy is after her time in captivity.The police treat her very badly I think, almost like an accomplice rather than a victim. Jodie Comer is excellent in the role of Ivy Moxam. The ending is satisfying on one hand but would have liked to have seen how Ivy coped after that. All in all a good series worth watching.

Jodie Comer is one of the best British actresses around. Five hours of story twists kept me watching from start to finish in one go.

Had never heard of it but saw it advertised online and gave it a chance. It was brilliant!

I watched it as I'd bought it but it'll be sold or thrown away - criticisms from others are valid - slightly dumb police, irritating family, scripted 'drama' rather than the caring being dramatic. A LONG way from other quality UK productions such as Broadchurch. Plenty of others to choose from. I wouldn't warch this if I had the decision again.
