Horrible setup, but great evolution of the Harmony line
First off, the setup experience was horrible on the PC. I came really close to returning this when attempting to connect to it via the PC. The remote refused to connect to the hub. At my wits end, I searched Google and to my surprise, you can actually perform the setup using the iPhone app - which was successful. If you're having trouble and reading this, download and install the 'MyHarmony Application' for Windows. Launch it, but do not press anything other than ALT+F9 - perform the firmware update and reset procedure then proceed with the setup using the phone app if you have issues.Since it's kind of unfair to the device to review it using a "what if" scenario, I gave it 5 stars (and avoided the "what if my mother had to set this up" scenario, and since she can't even use the cable remote properly - that scenario is bother unrealistic and again, unfair). On to the remote itself:Coming from a Harmony 1100, with wireless extender, this thing is night and day. I'll explain:Convenience:+ No more sticking RF extenders on IR ports on devices individually. The IR blaster has a very impressive range, and the hub itself is a blaster!+ No more connecting both the extender AND the remote to the PC individually to perform updates.+ No more tweaking, making notes and then performing said updates (the remote will tweak your settings, on the fly if something didn't setup correctly).Performance:+ No more lag using the buttons (which causes repeated key strokes or missing ones).+ The new IR blasters are extremely responsive; keystrokes are registered immediately - no more repeated keystrokes either.+ Remote can communicate 'natively' with my gaming consoles (PS3, PS4, Xbox One).- Remote CAN'T communicate via WiFi to a Windows PC (yet?). Really big missed opportunity here since they already developed a iPhone app for remotely moving the mouse - why not integrate it here? Odd.Usability:+ Many more hard buttons (vs. the 1100), light and easy to use one handed.+ Help menu doesn't just fix the remote's missing commands one time, it actually learns and adjusts the activity settings.+ The Windows app is much more straight forward for configuring the remote and assigning buttons.- The touch screen is nice, but the performance leaves a lot to be desired. Swiping and accidentally hitting menu items happen a lot for me. Though to their credit, the 'lock screen' is a nice touch to prevent this while you're just idle with the remote.I haven't experienced a bug with the remote yet - I read that earlier FW had a lot of bugs, mine looks ok. This is definitely not a novice device to setup but the iPhone setup app is slick and is a huge step in the right direction. Just wished the Windows app worked just as well out the gate. With such great core feature upgrades (software, key stroke performance, IR blaster performance and setup), I couldn't help but give this is 5 star even with the issues I had.Unlike the original series of remotes and software, I didn't feel like I had to start from scratch every update or abandoned inside the setup if I got lost. Once that horrific pairing experience was done, the activity setup imported all of my activities and devices from my old Harmony device and running through the activities tweaked the plaguing issues I had with my Sony XBR850C TV.So once you overcome pairing, the remote finally shines. Have a bit of patience, and this baby will pay off. Good luck!

Buy this remote and don't look back
I transitioned to this remote from a harmony 900 and absolutely everything about this remote is better. I have a very complex setup which requires the remote to be able to separately operate multiple tv's with separate sound systems and also operate a PS3, Nintendo Wii, Receiver, Directv Genie, Epson Projector, and Windows computer.I had previously asked logitech to update their code database on certain functions for my receiver and projector with discrete hex codes I found online and they did this for me quickly. Because of this great customer service, I went with this top of the line Harmony remote instead of changing brands after my Harmony 900 died a bit prematurely. I'm glad I stayed faithful as this remote out of the box is light years ahead of the Harmony 900. Instead of simply transferring all the activities from the old remote over to the new, I decided to set this new remote up fresh. It took me probably 2 hours to set up compared to probably 10-12 hours for the Harmony 900 3 years ago or so. The new software is significantly quicker and easier to use and I have had zero remote errors in 3 months since my purchase. I did not have to change any of the deeper menu settings to adjust delays and lag like I had to do with the 900. This one just worked. It also switched everything on much quicker than the old remote, changes channels instantly, and has a MUCH better touchscreen. This remote has actually helped me to enjoy my theater much more than I did previously because I can jump from doing one thing to another so much quicker and more easily. I am able to switch from Amazon shows, to Netflix, to TV, to PC work, to Gaming without ever worrying about something not turning off or on when I want. The ability to program a series of commands is also excellent as I can press a single button to get split screen or closed captions on Directv which used to take 9 or so button presses. It's also easily used by my wife who used to spend 10 minutes on the phone with me anytime she wanted to watch a blu-ray because the old remote wouldn't change inputs correctly or turn on the ps3 every time. The Hub and IR hublets that extend the IR capabilities are much better than the old technology, and as I mentioned above, have yet to fail in any of the multipart tasks that I have thrown at them. The only 2 downsides to this remote are the having the Play/Pause/FF/RW buttons above the screen, and the buttons on the remote don't feel quite as nice to press as the Harmony 900. There is a screen lock so that the buttons above the screen aren't as big of a deal, but it forces you to swipe the screen to get to your favorites and programmed buttons. You can disable the screen lock, but you will likely re-enable it after accidentally hitting a favorite channel button while watching a live game or the like. Had the buttons been below the screen, the swipe to unlock feature probably wouldn't even be necessary for most users. The buttons don't depress quite as far as the Harmony 900 in my opinion which makes them feel a bit cheaper, but they do always work the way they are intended so not a big gripe there.Buy this remote! You will love it.

Great remote
Great product, I had a Harmony One that was getting buggy and slow so I bought this version and it's much faster at firing up devices. Sleek looking hub and remote and the touch screen is very responsive. The app seems to work fine with no lag or issues so I'm not sure what some of the other comments complaining about it are all about. I guess my only complaint would be the layout of the buttons, I would have preferred the channel and volume layout switched with ff/rew/play layout. Minor quibble.

A Pleasant Surprise
I'm usually prepared form some sort of difficulty with newly acquired technology. That wasn't the case with this unit. The app worked great and was quite intuitive after a little clicking around. The app isn't very highly rated in the App Store, but I found adding devices and creating activities was easy and straightforward using the prompts.Even though a few of my devices are legacy-grade, it recognized all of them. It's a real pleasure to switch from watching TV to watching Netflix on Apple TV with one click instead of multiple clicks on multiple devices. After programming, Harmony automatically selects all the settings necessary to switch from one activity to another. I'm a happy buyer. There are a couple of annoying things. The buttons on the remote itself don't have enough of a relief profile to be able to identify by touch which button you are looking for. The differences between the raised buttons and the remote's surface are very subtle, but I suppose I will get used to that. I'm accustomed to navigating by feel and muscle memory, but this remote makes that a little more difficult. On the programming side, I wan't able to define an HDMI1 port - of all things - for my Yamaha AV Receiver. The list started at HDMI2. Twice I followed the instructions to "teach" the remote a new control, and that worked - HDMI1 was added. But when I went to the Watch TV activity, it wasn't there; just HDMI 2 through 6, like before. I dealt with this by switching the HDMI cable to a different port. Luckily I had one available.Final point, after using the unit for about a week, it sometimes doesn't choose the HDMI port you programmed for the activity selected. This has only happened twice. It seems to "remember" the port you last used when you turned everything off. If you start up using a different activity, the port is sometimes, not always, the last one you used. Toggling it back and forth between the original activity and the new activity seems to resolve the issue. It hasn't happened often enough for me to identify a pattern. For me, this would be a five-star review except for these minor things. But I took the batteries out of 7 previous remotes and tossed them all in a drawer. (The wife said, can we throw them away? HaHa. Nice try.)

Very nice remote
It took a bit of running the app and setting up all the devices, but it works well. I did have some issues with a receiver and cable box running in an enclosed cabinet on different shelves until i installed one additional IR module. I was able to get the remote connected to Google Home and it all works great now.
