Very well written book. Difficult to put down once you start. John is a great story teller describing his younger life and how his experiences unknowingly prepared him for this profession. The description of how early EMS worked compared to what the public takes for granted today is spot on. Once upon a time it wasn't as simple as calling 911. The story of caring for others while John himself was battling health issues of his own was skillfully intertwined. Buy it and read it. You won't be disappointed!

A very well written and captivating book which chronologically follows John's career in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical and Firefighting. This book is candidly written with real accurate life stories that he and others experienced. Any First Responder with time on the streets can easily relate to this book.

This book was a great read. I read it cover to cover in one sitting. It kept me enthralled and entertained through its entirety. Very well written and a pleasure to get to know the author through its pages. An exciting and often hilarious ride through the life of a paramedic.

This book held my interest all the way through. It gave insight in what a paramedic and firefighter go through. The author was honest and open about his experiences with a few chuckles thrown in. I recommend it for a good read.

An incredible story of an incredible man! Piece of advice, keep some tissues nearby though. Whether you're tearing up during a heart-felt story, or a horrible situation, or after laughing so hard your sides hurt, you will need the tissues!!
