Looks good, installation was not too bad. Should have bought the chrome bars instead because there is only a 2 year warranty for rust on the black bars..

My nerf bars arrived in half a box. When I opened the torn to shreds box and started to remove the bubble wrap I noticed several quarter size chunks of the powder coating was chipped off and the steal was already beginning to rust. Was very dissatisfied with the product that I received. Was a very aggravating experience. And the return experience was also a horrible experience.

MY TRUCK IS A 2010 FORD RANGER 4XX4. HERE IS MY SUMMARY:REAR MOUNNTING BRACKETS ARE BOTH 2-PIECE. I HAD THEM WELDED TO MAKE THEM EACH 1-PIECE TO REDUCE SLOP/RATTLING, UP AND DOWN MOVEMENT.I THEN HAD ALL BRACKETS WELDED TO MY TRUCK FRAME (AFTER MARKING FRAME WITH WHITE PAINT TO HELP THE MAN DOING THE WELDING. ) THEY THEN BOLTED THE NERF BARS (U-TUBES) TO THE BRACKETS AFTER WELDING BRACKETS TO THE FRAME. SO I ONLY USED THE 4 LARGE BOLTS AND NUTS THAT CAME WITH IT.I ALSO WRAPPED THE VERY ENDS OF THE NERF BARS WITH ONE LAYER OF HEAVY DUTY GORILLA TAPE FOR REDUCING SLOP/PLAY. IT WORKED VERY WELL. THE NERF BARS ARE BOLTED TO THE BRACKETS USING THE BOLTS/NUTS PROVIDED. HOWEVER, I HAD TO ADD LOCK WASHERS SINCE THE KIT DOES NOT FURNISH THEM. (WHY ?)MY RESULTS ARE 5-STAR REGARDS LOOKS AND STURDINESS, AND THANKS TO THE GORILLA TAPE, MY INSTALLATION DOES NOT WIGGLE NOR RATTLE.IT COST ME $250 TO HAVE IT WELDED/INSTALLED AT LOCAL AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP. WORTH IT BEING AS I AM 80, AND COULD NEVER HOPE TO DRILL THE 32 HOLES NEEDED TO BOLT IT TO MY CHASSIS. MY TRUCK BEING A 4X4 AND MY AGE MADE IT DESIRABLE TO INSTALL THESE. WE LOVE IT.I THIINK THE MAKER OUGHT TO INICLUDE LOCK WASHERS, AND OUGHT TO INCLUDE A SMALL AMOUNT OF GORILLA TAPE FOR WRAPPING ENDS TO ELIMINATE SLOP AND RATTLING. REAR BRACKETS OUGHT TO BE 1-PIECE LIKE THE FRONT BRACKETS ARE.BE PREPARED TO DO SOME WORK YOURSELF TO GET A GOOD, TIGHT INSTALLATION AND GOOD RESULTS. THE FINISH AND APPEARANCE ARE VERY GOOD.

Tried to buy these from a local vendor who obviously tried to run me over the coals on price and shipping then wanted to talk down on the product as it was a universal fit, try buying custom fit for an old dodge truck. I have purchased 2 sets of these one in chrome and this set in black and yes they do require some effort on the owners behalf to drill holes so they will mount but I like them much more than any other set I have tried.

I got these because the aftermarket for a mid-80's Blazer is tiny. I have to admit I was happy about the price, but I did expect that once mounted, they would be a functional step as well. I followed the (minimalist) directions, and they are installed correctly, (added the braces and even bought extra nuts and bolts to make things more secure), but the step will flex downward when stepped on, even when it is a woman that weighs less than 140. And not a slight flex, but by a couple of inches.As far as installing, it only took a couple of hours for both sides, and the price is good, but you definitely are NOT getting a functional addition to your truck, it is a cosmetic addition only. I will be replacing this soon.

Basically the step bar is awesome and well built. The front bracket is perfect and provides ultimate support and is well designed. Unfortunately, the rear brackets are not the same as the front and they are poorly designed for support bar attachment. The rear brackets should be the same as the front brackets, in my opinion, for optimal support. Be aware, the frame bolts are not strong bolts whatsoever. Three frame bolts broke off in the frame after drilling the holes and tightening the bolts. Do not force the bolts with pressure into the frame, they will break off. Drill your frame holes slightly larger than recommended. Some customization was required to make the step more stable.
