I haven't had a hot-oil popcorn popper since the early 80s and it was clunky and heavy so I was a little hesitant when I removed this one from the box and felt how light it was (even though it looks almost identical to my old one) but it worked beautifully and produced tender yet crispy popcorn, VERY different than the microwave popcorn I've been eating for years (that I thought was better than the hot air popcorn trend)Everyone loves the popcorn you get at theaters, right.. and that's because they pop it IN OIL ..it really does make a huge difference in texture!!Also, it's been my experience that microwaving popcorn leaves a smell in the microwave no matter how you clean it, because of that "butter" flavor.. and let's be honest, it's certainly NOT real butter and probably clogs your arteries worse than if you eat the real thing! Ask your doctor!So take a culinary trip back to the time when food was purer... this is simply popcorn roasted in a tiny bit of oil the way Grandma made it (except she probably used a big pot on top of the stove) and your taste buds will LOVE ITAnd cleanup is a breezeNo eternal ghost smell of "butter"in the microwave, either!Okay, I'm gonna go finish the bowl now! Don't want to waste THIS!!

This is a great little popcorn popper, I have used it almost every day since I got it, I forgot how good real popcorn tasted over the microwave bags. I bought the smaller one, it only pops 1/4 c of kernels at a time but can make consecutive batches if necessary, the small size makes it easier to store. The arm keeps the kernels moving and almost all of them pop each time. I very strongly recommend this popcorn popper, one of my favorite purchases.

I thought this size would be perfect. However it is much smaller than I thought. I make a lot of popcorn at once to munch on for several days. It makes great popcorn but I’m popping it for 1/2 hour to get enough and it gets pretty hot. But it works and keeps on popping! I wish I would have bought a bigger size. But all in all if you don’t eat much popcorn, this is for you!

Works Great popped almost all the seeds and taste was good too. there is nothing not to like I used real butter with olive oil....buy it.

I was only able to use this popper a couple times before throwing it in the trash. The first time I used it, it did a poor job of popping the kernels and left several kernels unpopped. The popped corn tends to get stuck in the spinning wire. Cleaning is a pain.The second time I used it, MOST of the kernels were unpopped. Because of this, there was still oil left in the pan. When I flipped it over, the oil spilled everywhere and got inside the unit. I was afraid this could cause a fire if I used it again, so I just thew it away.I do NOT recommend this popper. An air popper works much better. Or just make popcorn on a stove top, it's easier than you think.

A bit unconventional in design, it uses a halogen lamp to heat the tray. The tray is removable and completely washable, although I hesitate to put it in a dishwasher. I would not put the dome/bowl in the dishwasher for fear that it might change under the high temperatures. It is easy to clean with a soapy sponge. The large plastic dome can easily accommodate the result of popping 3/4 of a cup of kernels, and serves as a bowl when consuming the popcorn.I am using it with a quality, name brand popping corn (yes there is a difference) and a highly refined, all liquid coconut oil. After experimenting I found that I need less than one tablespoon of oil for a half cup of corn kernels. The resulting popcorn is light, fluffy, crisp, and not greasy. There are virtually no unpopped kernels although the first few to pop are, as usual, denser than the rest.This popcorn is so good that it is worth keeping any leftovers in a plastic bag for later consumption.Edit:This appliance didn't age well. Over time (four years), the heat source must have lost power. Now I can't get a decent batch of popcorn out of it. The popcorn comes out heavy and damp. I'm told that going to smaller batches would help but that defeats the purpose of getting this large appliance. I switched back to a microwave popper at a lower cost.

LOVE this popcorn maker. Very nice, and quick! Cleanup is a breeze.
