Fun little kit here. All you need is a small bowl. The kit has everything else but the plant. Great for the kids! They had so much fun putting this together. Not much of a mess either. This would make a great gift for any indoor gardener.

If I could give this less than one star, I would. It's very false advertising. All you get is some dirt and stones and moss. No terrarium, even though it says "7-inch glass". Besides that, a terrarium is the worst place to put succulent plants as pictured. They would die in the high humidity of a terrarium. I bought this for my air plants, and was extremely disappointed when I received it. Money wasted. I threw mine in the trash.

This terrarium starter kit comes with *almost* everything you need to create a terrarium. I understood that it does not come with the plants/succulents. I took the "7 inch glass (medium)" in the description to mean it came with a glass bowl, but it doesn't. Even though it shows the same bowl in just about every picture, it does list what comes in the kit and it doesn't include a bowl. it would be a bit clearer if they had a different container in each picture.If you watch the instruction video, it also does not come with charcoal for the bottom.It also does not include any reverse tweezers/forceps, so depending on the container you will likely need something to extend your grip. Chopsticks are easy to come by if you have the required dexterity, but even a cheap pair of long nose reverse tweezers would have been really nice to include in the kit. Depends on how selective you want to be with placement.Other than those deficiencies, it includes all the layers and mesh you need to create a terrarium.Things to buy in addition to this kit:• glass container• charcoal• reverse tweezers or chopsticks• succulents or plantsSimply follow the included directions or reference the video, arranging the layers as necessary. You can create a beautiful plant terrarium.

The instuctions requred some extra help . My plant did die but that was probobly personal error rather thatn the kit.

What this set does include seems like fine quality. The presentation is nice if gifting. The problem is the description first states "𝐀𝐋𝐋-𝐈𝐍-𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐔𝐌 𝐊𝐈𝐓: The terrarium starter kit comes with everything needed to set up a healthy terrarium..." Due to pictures and description, I believed this really was an all-in-one kit. Not until you get far, far down in the description does it note that activation charcoal, glass terrarium and plants are not included. This is not mentioned until the 6th bullet point. I don't like feeling misled and this certainly is.

This "medium" kit has plenty of stuff for starting a terrarium, including substrate and soil as well as ground cover. I prepared two terrariums with this kit with soil left over, but I would measure what you think you need as I don't want to steer you wrong with amounts.

Everything but the container. The kit has everything you need to start a terrarium in the container of your choice, provided it's not too big. Easy to follow instructions, well packaged.

Maybe it's my own fault but considering how many photos of a glass bowl, and the " 7” Glass" in the title, i kind of expected this to come with a container... it does not. Kind of disappointing since one would expect a "starter kit" to include the MOST IMPORTANT PART... Without a container, what this starter kit really is, is a small box of soil amendments. It also says there is no activated charcoal, which is true, but the contents are all still COVERED in black dust from activated charcoal that must have made its way in there at some point. Whole thing just looks dirty and cheap with some dubious marketing.
