Otimo Lighted Foot Switch Extension Cord with 3 Outlets, 9 Feet, White

This is simply a light duty extension cord with a switch in the middle (well 1/3 of the way up on it), and it has a kind of funky (my word choice here) red button that you press to turn it on and press again to turn off. It has two lights (I am assuming LED tiny lights); one light is always on when you plug the cord in to a wall outlet; the second light comes on when you turn it on (and off when you press the red button a second time to turn it off). Using the Command strips and little holders, I put up a couple of supports to keep the wire up to the three foot level so it would be easy to turn on and off (right by my regular light switch). My only mild gripe is the LED light is on all the time, but since it is such a tiny light, I assume it is not using any real amount of electricity. Still, it would be nice if you could have the little light off. By the way,the light that comes on is not the red section in the middle; above and below the round red center are two orange colors, those are the colors that shine when the cord is in outlet and when unit is on. This unit is good for "light" work like bulbs,small fans and such; I wouldn't suggest using it to power an electric heater or anything that uses quite a bit of juice as the cord is too light (I am guessing it is a 14 gauge wire, maybe 16). The cord is nine feet (as indicated), so if you need a longer cord, this unit isn't it.

I often find myself looking for creative solutions to "how to turn this on and off more easily" and I must say this Lighted Foot Switch with 9ft 3 Outlet Cord is one of the best I've come across. I have two devices at my desk at work that I only use "sometimes", and both are located UNDER my desk, not easy for me to get to, in terms of reaching the individual power on/off switches of each device when I want to activate or de-activate. Both devices are black with black cords, are neither is easy to reach from my desk chair. What I wanted was a cord with a foot switch on it that I could simply move my foot to turn on and off with no hassle. This product solved my problem perfectly.PRO'S1) Plenty long enough (nine feet) to maneuver around under my desk without difficulty or tripping/kicking hazard. Shorter cords cut across the area where my feet move and snag, this one does not.2) TWO lights ... one stays on to let you know the cord is plugged into a live circuit, the 2nd light comes on only when you have the switch engaged to ON. Great design!3) Three outlets - more than enough for my needs at the moment so I don't need to worry about getting multiple cords.4) Foot switch works easily and predictably, without having to "retry" to turn things on and off.5) White color ... so I can find it easily under my dark desk when I need to rearrange things. Black cords in a dark area ... not handy.CONSNone that I've encountered so far.

Perfect for the purpose

We bought two of these 5 years ago for our kids rooms. I felt compelled to review now because the product has been so useful. Our kids were small and unable to easily reach the lighswitch. With these extension cords plugged into lamps, it was super easy for them to step on the switch and turn on the light. Even in the dark, since the switch glows.It would also be good for those with a baby, when you want to turn on a light but have your hands full.Highly recommended.

I love this thing! It was an incredibly smart purchase if I do say so myself! I have my moments. :) I plugged the cord of a lamp that sits in the corner behind the recliner into it. I don't know how many years I put up with leaning over the recliner to turn this lamp off and on (I'm short so it was a daily struggle), but the problem is solved now thanks to this little darling. It runs behind our couch and sits next to another floor lamp, pretty much out of sight. Easy to turn off and on with a tap of your foot. It's amazing how a simple product can make life much easier ... or at least the part of life that is involved in turning lamps off and on. But really you could use it for anything and it works great. Highly recommend!

Works PERFECT for what I'd needed!!! I'm probably a little too excited for this gizmo...I'd rearranged my desk and put a desk lamp up on the top shelf of my desk hutch...which meant that to turn it on I had to stand up on my tippy tippy tippy toes...and barely be able to even reach to turn the lamp on and off. I searched around and found this thing, exactly what I needed. Now, when I come to my desk I simply sit down and step down on the button that's on the ground at my feet under the desk...and voila!!! Let there be light!I can't speak for durability or longevity since I've only had it a couple days...if it stops working soon I'll come back and update my review. But for now, it feels very solid and sturdy. I love this thing!

I use this for a tall floor lamp that I have Christmas lights wrapped around. It is the perfect item so I do not have to keep fishing for the plug of my lights and plug them in and out each night. I just step on the switch and they are on. I can keep them plugged in and turn it on and off with ease. I have had no issues with it and have no issues with the length of the foot switch. It rests perfectly on the floor for easy access. I thought the glowing light would annoy me on the plug but it really doesn't bother me at all.

The button works... it turns my lamp on and off! Unfortunately, plugging in the lamp into this switch was almost impossible. It has the kind of outlets where you have to push as hard as you can to squeeze anything in. I don't know why they'd make it this way.

Bought this for my elderly parents last year. This saves them from having to bend over and into their Christmas tree to put on the lights. So glad I purchased this! They love it too.
