So... I didn't want to rehang a 16' gate that the previous owner fd up. So I got the wheel. I did find a nice family of ants in the process. They didn't like the wheel as much as I did so they moved out. I still send them Christmas cards but they don't send me one. I'm just trying to be the bigger man

Several have noted that this wheel does not hold up well. The wheel came with an axle that is too long for the nut to tighten sufficiently, allowing the bearings to flop out of the rim. I discovered that if the wheel is removed, a washer is added to the inside of the wheel and the outside of the wheel, reinstalled and tightened until the wheel is too tight to move, and then backed off until the wheel moves freely, if becomes a solid installation.

These wheels only last 4-5 yrs then you need to replace them. They rust out really fast.

The squared holes for the carriage bolt are only on one side of the mounting plate, so if you want the carriage heads facing out, you can only mount this on a gate with that's anchored on one particular side. If it's anchored on the opposite side, you have to have the nuts exposed to the front, making it easier for somebody to un-do the nuts on the bolts. It'll still go on, but it's such a basic thing to have square holes on both sides that it's hard to forgive the lack of forethought.

My fence sags a bit and has become increasingly hard to move. I added this wheel and it solved my problem. It was initially a bit wobbly but I added 2 washers and it tightened it up perfectly

Easy to install took less than five minutes. Much easier than lifting the gate up now just got to push it

These are better quality than any I’ve used before on the farm. We are in Arizona and they do amazingly well in the horrible heat! No slipping, either! They’re strong! Well made!
