LAGUIOLE I7211P6-NT Set of 6 Dessert Spoons in Pastel Colours

For Christmas I decided that it was time to renew the cutlery. My late wife was French and her family use this brand themselves so I was familiar with the product. I bought several items and sets to ensure that I can cater for that unexpected impossible during lockdown rush of hungry visitors. I bought mixed colour sets so that I would have the flexibility of being able to buy additional items and not be too worried about them blending in. What I have learnt is that although there is the same style across the ranges with this brand, which is the style that attracts me, there are varying levels of quality. The good ones are really good but the lesser ones have clearly been made as a budget range and don’t stack up so well in the quality department. They tend to be thinner metal and not so crisp in the casting. Buying online it’s almost impossible to tell the difference, it’s a great example of why we still need shops. Although I have found generally that the cheaper range has 1 rivet on the plastic handle part the better ones have 3. I am still happy with my spoons but because of them being the cheaper ones I have to deduct a point

I already have 12 kinves & forks, 6 dessert and teaspoons and bought these and 6 more teaspoons to make up 12 of everything. The others were bought nearly 3 years ago and are in constant use. These new ones aren't a patch on the 'old' - they are lightweight, flimsy and the edges are sharp. Poor quality by comparison and even the bee motif is on the side instead of embossed - cheap copies. Avoid.

The spoons were very poor quality, thin, sharp edges to the sides of the bowl. the bowl was scratched and pitted. I have a large quantity of laguiole cutlery of good quality and these were a very poor relative. They were immediately returned for a refund.

I'm sure they do their job as spoons but they are an imitation of Laguiole. Poor quality, no certificate of authenticity and made in PRC no France.Will be returning
